‘Stopping Starmer’s
Police State – Defending the Right to Protest’ to listen to six different speakers, three of
whom have been arrested under the Terrorism Acts, one of whom is the mother of
a daughter, Fatimah, who is in custody, Huda Ammori the co-founder of Palestine
Action and Franck Magennis, a barrister at Garden Court Chambers who is
presently one of the lawyers involved in seeking the deproscription of Hamas.
It says something about the nature of the Tory
Party and its far-right leader, Kemi Bad Enoch (presumably her mother had forewarning
of how she would turn out when she was named!) that its Justice Secretary
Robert Jenrick, someone who is more comfortable in the company of neo-Nazis and
asylum protesters, has branded as ‘sickening’the bid to deproscribe Hamas.

Unfortunately Natalie Strecker, who has been
charged with a terrorist offence in Jersey, under laws similar but not
identical to our own, did not feel able to attend and speak in person. She did
however kindly agree to send us a video with her message and it is shown above
The
first speaker was Sukaina Rajwani, whose daughter Fatema Zainab is one of the Filton 24, who have
been incarcerated for a year now and can expect to stay in prison for another
year before even facing a trial. This is completely outrageous. They are
charged with non-terrorist offences yet they are being kept in appalling
conditions in prison as if they were terrorists.

Hoxha has been held in prison without trial for the last nine months, and has
been on hunger strike since 11 August as a protest against the denial of her
basic rights. She says that she and her Palestine Action co-defendants are
being monitored by the Counter Extremism Unit. See Filton

It is a sad, sick comment on Starmer and
Cooper’s Britain that young women and men who are trying to stop a genocide are
treated like the worst criminals whilst arms manufacturers, who profit from the
bodies of babies torn to shredd are feted, wined and dined.
One person who should be in gaol is Lord
Dannat, a former head of the British army and a member of the House of Lords. He urged ministers to crack down on Palestine Action
at the request of the US defence company Teledyne that employs him as an
adviser.
Despite his claims of non-interference, police
transcripts in a trial disclosed internal objections to his involvement,
although a judge ultimately ruled that he had not interfered in the active
investigation.
Next up to speak was Mick Napier, Chair of
Scottish PSC who has spent most of his active life being arrested. It is ironic
that despite Scotland being ruled for most of that time by the Scottish
National Party, the SNP has given next to no support to the Palestinians who
are also fighting for their freedom from an alien occupation. Indeed the record
of the Scottish Police is as bad as those in England. See SACC

The next speaker was Richard Medhurst, a journalist who was
arrested by the counter-terror police at Heathrow Airport and accused of ‘expressing
an opinion or belief that is supportive of a terrorist organisation’. He was
detained for 24 hours, his electronic devices seized and he has been waiting
for over a year to see if he is going to be charged. See his account here.
Huda Ammori, the co-founder of Palestine Action was the next to
speak and as always she gave a barnstorming speech outlining the growth of the
campaign against Palestine Action’s proscription.
Next up was Franck Magennis, a prominent Irish and socialist
barrister from Garden Court Chambers. Franck is involved in the attempt to
secure de-proscription of Hamas. He has been targeted
by the Israeli government front group the so-called Campaign Against
Antisemitism for having told the racist Chief Rabbi Mirvis to shut his racist, Zionist
mouth!
The CAA have submitted not one but two complaints against
Franck.Presumably on the basis that if
one doesn’t succeed the other might! Among the things they objected to was the statement
that:
“Zionism is collapsing. Keep hammering anyone who still identifies as a
Zionist. Their apartheid state is a pariah. It’s on its way out, just like
South Africa, like Jim Crow, like the French in Algeria. Escalate!!”
Most people would agree that this is a good example of the
exercise of free speech but given that the CAA is an Israeli front group it’s
not surprising that they believe that British standards of free speech should
mirror those of Israel – where pro-Palestine speech normally results in arrest
and a beating.
I was the last speaker and I will leave you to watch to find out
what I said! Apart from, that is, taking Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Ben
Jamal to task for having done nothing to support the campaign to destroy the
proscription of Palestine Action. PSC still labourd under the illusion that
they can, by staging demonstrations in London that no one reports and writing
protest letters to MPs that no one reads, win over the British Establishment to
the Palestinian cause. Softly, softly and mainstreaming is what they call a
strategy.
After all the speakers had spoken there was a Q&A session.

Haim Bresheeth of Jewish Network for Palestine.

Outside Westminster Magistrates Court
2024 has been a very busy year for me and below are some of
the things that I did.I had a tour of
Scotland and speaking engagements in Ireland and the Netherlands as well as
speaking at demonstrations in Glasgow, Liverpool and my home town Brighton.
I continued to promote my book which came out at the end of
2022. Quite remarkably sales were higher by far in the first half of 2024 than in
the first half of 2023. You don’t get to learn of the sales figures until about
3 months after the end of the half year but I expect they will have increased
again.
I did a wide range of interviews and talks, only some of
which are below with audiences in the United States, South Africa and
Australia. The theme of my book can be summed up in that Jewish Chronicle headline
‘Infamous anti-Israel activist Tony
Greenstein called Jewish state 'Hitler's bastard offspring’. Israel has
demonstrated that the only thing it learnt from Nazi Germany was how to emulate
them.
Katie was a very challenging interviewer and I was pleased
with the outcome. Recorded separately were interviews with Jenny Manson, the
co-chair of Jewish Voices for Labour and Rabbi Herschel Gluck.
On November 7 I was invited to Cork
in Ireland to speak. The atmosphere in Ireland is totally different from that
in Britain where the State is breathing down our necks and harassing our
marches. Ireland doesn’t have a genocidal supporting government supplying Israel
with more weaponry to murder civilians and destroy hospitals.
I spoke in a hotel on the evening
of the November 7 and the room was packed and I nearly sold out of books. At
the end of the meeting I was taken aback when I was given a standing ovation. It
shows the enthusiasm and solidarity of the Irish with the Palestinians.
On the Friday night I spoke at a
bar in a small town in West Cork, Skibbereen. I’d never heard of the place
before but again the room was packed to the rafters. The following day I took
part in a march in the town and afterwards spoke at the rally.
This was in the middle of the Irish
General Election. There were sarcastic comments about the Social Democrats
taking part in the march having never done previously! The experience of
British colonialism has ensured that the Irish understand what is happening and
it is no surprise that Israel has closed its Embassy in Ireland.
I was therefore pleased to be invited
to an interview with EI on my birthday, 30 December! It was a very useful and
productive interview. Electronic Intifada is the premiere Palestine Solidarity
website. Having written for many papers, journals and sites I have to say that
no one gives you such a hard time as EI! They check virtually every word and quote
to see that you can back it up.Nothing escapes
the scrutiny of their fact checkers. Would that the British tabloids or Elon
Musk had to undergo the same level of scrutiny!
Another interview, in
fact two interviews was with Rania Khalek, a young Lebanese woman who runs Breakthrough News. Rania is a feisty
interviewer who clearly feels the pain of what has happened in Lebanon with
Israel’s savage bombing of its civilian population.

interviewed me in Budapest on 10 April, where I had gone for dental implant
surgery.However the Internet connection
was not good and my computer had problems so we completed the interview on 15
April back in Brighton. This is the full
interview and this is the cut down version.
On 14 June Rania interviewed me about
my book and this time it was completed in one session. I found it a fascinating
interview and thanks to Rania for the time she took over this. Subsequently
Rania was invited to speak at a meeting of the Socialist Labour Network and
Jewish Network for Palestine on a Jewish or a Democratic State and on January
27 she will speak at our Holocaust Memorial Day meeting. You can go here for the

I
have never been attracted to the idea of an autobiography or even a biography.
Life is too short to waste time describing what you have done with your life and
its bound to be partial and self-exculpatory. However I was happy to work with
Helen Aksentijevic to produce a short, half hour film summarising some of the
things I’ve tried to do.
Helen
has produced similar films on other Jewish anti-Zionist such as Moshe Machover, Haim Bresheeth and
Sabby Sagall so I was very flattered to be asked.

At the end of October I was invited to the wedding of an old
friend, a long standing Palestine solidarity activist, SusanBlackwell.She lives in the Netherlands and so I said that I would be happy to
do a meeting whilst there.
Sue got in touch with students at the main technical
university in the Netherlands, Delft University, and I was invited to speak
to a meeting. The only problem was that the university, which was happy to
invite Admiral Ellis, a representative of US arms company Lockheed Martin to
campus and a ghoul of many US wars, they didn’t want me to speak because I
might hurt the feelings of those students who supported the genocide in Gaza.
Of course when you contrast the hurt feelings of Zionists with
the dead bodies of Palestinian children there is no contest.So I wrote to the Rector His Magnificus
(yes that’s his title) Timothy van der Hagen
suggesting that freedom of speech is worth preserving. After all Hagen had written on the
university website that
‘The most important task of TU Delft is to make a
contribution towards building a better society’.
Yet Magnificus Hagen’s idea of a better society and mine were
not the same. Hagen is just another ruling class hypocrite.
However the students had other ideas. Although I was banned
from campus I turned up anyway
and with just 2 hours notice over 100 students gathered to listen to me on the
steps of the library. Not only had the stupid Magnificus built my meeting for
me but by his own actions he had ensured that my message went out to thousands.

The security, although watching, did not intervene.A magnificus victory! I did write to Magnificus
Hagen afterwards but he seems to be a man of few words and even fewer thoughts!

As readers of this blog will know I was arrested a year ago
on ‘terrorism’ charges and my last court appearance was on 19 December at
Westminster magistrates court. There was a demonstration
outside and I will be next appearing at the Old Bailey on 31 January where I
hope people will also demonstrate their opposition to the use of terrorism
legislation to silence Palestine solidarity activists.

On the 4 AugustI came
back from my holiday in the Outer Hebrides and stopped off in Liverpool, where
I spent my childhood, to speak to the Palestine demonstration outside the Roman
Catholic Cathedral. I always enjoy going back to Liverpool with its magnificent
waterfront and city buildings.
On 3 December I spoke on behalf of Jewish Network for
Palestine at a seminar organised by the Open University Palestine group. Other
speakers were Tony Lerman, an expert in anti-Semitism and former Director of
the Institute of Jewish Policy Research, Barnaby Raine, a Ph D student and
young firebrand and Michael Richmond who spoke about philosemitism, the other
side of the anti-Semitism coin. The title was ‘How anti-Semitism has
complemented Zionism’.

a seminar on the 12 November in the wake of my review
of Jonathan Freedland’s dishonest biography of Rudolf Vrba, The Escape Artist, about the
anti-Zionist Jewish hero who escaped, with Alfred Wetzler, from Auschwitz in
order to warn Hungarian Jews of preparations being made to exterminate them.
Speakers included
Stephen Kapos, a survivor of the Hungarian holocaust, Haim Bresheeth, an
anti-Zionist Israeli and member of JNP and Tom Suarez, author Palestine HijackedandState of Terror. Below

The Complete Seminar – Rewriting the Holocaust
To commemorate the one
year anniversary of October 7, the SLN and JNP organised a seminar to discuss
the Gaza holocaust. Speakers included Ghada Karmi, a refugee from 1948, Rania
Khalek, Haim Bresheeth and myself. Below is my speech but people can go to the
SLN’s Youtube channel to listen to the complete seminar, ‘A Jewish State or a Democratic State’.
Most most people agree that it was an extremely good seminar and I highly
recommend listening to the whole seminar as I do the previous one on Vrba.

In the wake of
Starmer’s election, the SLN organised a star studded panel including myself!
Speakers included Ian Hodson, General Secretary of the Bakers Union,Graham Bash – founding editor of National
Labour Briefing, David Miller – who was sacked for his anti-Zionist views by
Bristol University and who later won a landmark employment tribunal, Chris Williamson,
the former Labour MP who was forced out of the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn
and Crispin Flintoff, presenter of the Not
the Andrew Marr show and latterly the Crispin Flintoff show which has a

Every year for the
past 2 years the SLN and the JNP have organised a meeting on Holocaust Memorial
Day, January 27. As the Zionists weaponise the holocaust we have to be prepared
to stand up and say ‘Never Again Means Never Again for Everyone’. For the
Zionists of course, Never Again means never again only for Jews, or the right
kind of Jew.
On January 27 2024 we
had an excellent line up including Professor Ilan Pappe, Ghada Karmi, Ronnie
Kasrills – the former head of Umkonte We Sizwe, the ANC’s military wing as well
as former South African Police Minister , Stephen Kapos – a child holocaust
survivor from Budapest, Suzanne Weiss – a child survivor from France and

Stop the Genocide in Gaza 10.11.23
Last January I undertook a tour of Scotland at the invitation
of Scottish PSC. I spoke in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee. I also spoke at a
large demonstration in Glasgow city centre.

Two months later I was back in
Glasgow. It was March 16, UN Anti-Racism Day and the SWP’sStand
Up to Racism were also holding a march. On the tiny SUTR march was none other than Glasgow Friends of Israel.
Ever since 2017 the SWP/SUTR have
insisted on marching with Zionists against racism! It’s like campaigning
against rape alongside rapists.
This has been the subject of
heated controversy in Scotland and the Police were always willing to lend a
helping hand to ensure that the Zionists could march. This year, at a time of
genocide in Palestine, the SWP’s decision to march with Zionists was particularly
disgraceful.

On October 4th, the 88th
anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street,
when the Police unsuccessfully tried to batter a way through the East End of
London for the British Union of Fascists. The same Metropolitan Police arrested
me after a picket of racist Israeli Ambassador Tzipi Hotoveli for comparing Israel’s
genocide in Gaza to the Nazi holocaust. Their pretext was that I had committed
a ‘racially aggravated offence’ under the Public Order Act. After being held
for 7 hours I was released fromHolborn
Police Station. A few weeks later I was informed that I would not be charged
with any offence.This is the speech

spoke to a meeting of the Labour Left Alliance in the wake of October 7. There
was then an extensive Question & Answer session.

On 15 November I spoke
at a demonstration organised by the Trades Council outside Hove Town Hall
And finally the one time
I appeared on Question Time at Sussex University’s Gardener Centre. It was when
Norman Tebbit, the Chingford skinhead was on the panel. I spoke from the
audience attacking him for his racist cricket test directed against immigrants
from the Indian sub-continent. Also on the panel was Clare Short. Peter Sissons
was in the Chair. I don’t think I would have got away with it with today’s
far-right Fiona Bruce!
It is
difficult to think of anything more disgusting than using the memory of the Jews
who died at the hands of the Nazis to justify the murder of Palestinian children
and their parents in Gaza.
The Western
powers – the United States, Britain and especially the German state - are happy
to go along with this rewriting of history. After all it lets them off the hook
and avoids western leaders having to answer uncomfortable questions such as why
the US and Britain refused to admit Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany.

A recent
example of this is how the riot and racist attacks of the Tel Aviv Maccabi fans
in the Netherlands was turned into a second Kristallnacht, the Nazi pogrom
of November 9-10 when 100 Jews were murdered and nearly all synagogues were
burnt to the ground.
This could
only happen because the attacks by Israel’s racist thugs on Arabs in Amsterdam
was conveniently
ignored, just as Israel’s war crimes in Gaza are ignored. The chants of ‘Death to the Arabs’ ‘May Your Villages Burn’
and ‘There is no school in Gaza today
because there are no children’ somehow disappeared down the memory hole of
Starmer, Scholtz, Biden and the Netherland’s idiot Prime Minister Schoof.
Instead the
fightback of Amsterdam residents who gave the Israeli thugs a deserved
thrashing was paraded as an anti-Semitic
pogrom.
There was
nothing more sick than the fascist leader of the Netherlands, who leads its
biggest parliamentary party The Freedom Party,
Geert Wilders, bemoaning the ‘anti-Semitic’ attacks whilst using it as a
pretext to call
for the deportation of Moroccans living in the Netherlands.

had the highest rate of extermination of Jews of any Western country in the holocaust.This was in part because it had a relatively
strong fascist party the NSB, which helped the Gestapo winkle out Jews in
hiding like Anne Frank. It doesn’t take much imagination to recognise that 84
years ago, Geert Wilders would not have been a member of the Communist Party
which organised the strikes against the Jewish deportations. Geert Wilders would
have been a prominent leader of the Dutch Nazi Party, the NSB. The idea that
this fascist would have joined Dutch workers in their strike against the deportations
is absurd.

The same is
true of the far-right President of the European Commission, Ursula
von der Leyen. A member of the Christian Democrats, whose antecedents lie in the Weimar
conservative parties including the anti-Semitic DNVP
which helped put Hitler in power. If Von Der Liar had been alive 90 years ago
she would have been a cheer leader for the Nazis but today Jews are a useful stalking
horse for western imperialism in the Middle East.
We
organised this webinar precisely because western leaders and its prostitute
media have turned the Nazi holocaust into a justification for their war plans
and racism.

The first
speaker was Tom Suarez who has written two excellently researched books, State of Terror and Palestine Hijacked. Tom
described Zionism as a cult and Anti-Semitism as its drug. He described the
cruel cynicism of Zionism which opposed all rescue plans for Jewish refugees
from the Nazis that didn’t involve Palestine as its destination. He recalled the opposition of David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first Prime Minister, to the Kindertransport in 1938/9, after Kristallnacht, which saved
10,000 German Jewish children from death.
As Ben-Gurion
explained to the Central Committee of Mapai, the Israeli Labour Party, on 9
December 1938:
If I knew that it
would be possible to save all the children in Germany by
bringing them over to England, and only half of them by transporting
them to Eretz Yisrael, then I would opt for the second
alternative. For we must weigh not only the life of these children, but also
the history of the People of Israel.

This was
the policy of the Zionist movement throughout the war. Another example he gave
was of the deliberate sabotage of the efforts of Rabbi Dr Solomon Schonfeld,
Chair of the Chief Rabbi’s Rescue Committee by the Board of Deputies, which at
that time was controlled by the Zionists. Indeed its President Selig Brodestsky
openly boasted of this sabotage. You can read about this in my book Zionism During the Holocaust.

Tom
described how the Haganah, the forerunner of the Israeli Occupation Forces, sank
the Patria, because they preferred dead refugees to them being transported by
the British to Mauritius. Over 250 of the 2,000 refugees died. The Haganah lied and claimed that the refugees themselves had sunk the boat because they preferred dying to living anywhere but Palestine. The habit of lying hasn't left them.

emphasised how anti-Semitism is key to holding Jews in the diaspora in
permanent fear, be it fake or genuine. The holocaust has been weaponised in
order that Israel can continue its ethnic cleansing.

After the
war the Zionists insisted that Jews be separated from non-Jews in the Displaced
Persons camps and in the Jewish camps there was a reign of terror to force them
to go, not to the United States or Britain but to Palestine. Those who didn’t
want to go were beaten up and worse.
Rabbi
Herzog, the Chief Rabbi of Palestine ran a kidnapping operation for Jewish children
who had been placed with non-Jewish families during the war. They were torn
from those families, regardless of their own wishes. In some cases children
whose parents were in England were still forced to go to Palestine.
The second
speaker was Haim
Bresheeth, the Israeli academic who was recently arrested by the police in
London as part of their attacks on Palestine solidarity supporters. The third
speaker was Tony Greenstein, author of Zionism
During the Holocaustand the final speaker was Stephen Kapos, who was a
child survivor of the Hungarian holocaust. He was sheltered by a Christian group
in Budapest.

will be holding a similar meeting on Holocaust Memorial Day. We are determined
not to allow the Zionists a monopoly over the holocaust narrative in order to
use one holocaust to justify more holocausts.
