If Zionist Denials of a Holocaust in Gaza are Right Then There Was No Jewish Holocaust Either – Just a Series of Massacres

Today It is the Zionists not Neo-Nazis Who Are the Main Holocaust deniers

Gideon Levy : Whatever happens we Zionists are always the victims

The Geneva Convention on Genocide, which was set up in the wake of the Nazi holocaust stated, in Article II, that:

In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

a.    Killing members of the group;

b.   Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

c.    Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;

d.   Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;

e.    Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

Those Zionists who are now saying , that there is no Genocide (Holocaust) in Gaza are really saying that Jews under Nazi occupation also didn’t experience a Genocide (holocaust).

Such is the detachment from reality of the Zionist neo-Nazis like the American Jewish Committee that they are actually saying that Israel is preventing a Genocide! Quite how bombing hospitals, schools and tent encampments in supposedly ‘safe’ areas is preventing a genocide I will leave to your imagination.

The video below could have been created by Joseph Goebbels though one suspects that even he wouldn’t have had the chutspah to claim that the Holocaust was preventing a genocide.

I have spent most of my life combating the ideas of people like Richard Verall (Harwood) who, in his pamphlet Did Six Million Really Die? argued that there was no Nazi holocaust and that million Jews were not exterminated.

I hate to admit it but I may have been wrong. Harwood/ Verall said

there is not a single document in existence which proves that the Germans intended to, or carried out, the deliberate murder of Jews

Starmer has consistently denied that there is a Genocide in Gaza

This isn’t quite true but the statements of intent to destroy the Palestinians of Gaza are much more explicit and open than anything that the Nazis said. The only conclusion we can come to, if the Zionists insist that there is no Genocide or Holocaust in Gaza then there was no Nazi holocaust  either.

Holocaust deniers say that yes, many Jews died, but there was no deliberate intent or plan to exterminate the Jews.

In the words of one holocaust denier, Paul Eisen

revisionist scholars have amassed a formidable body of substantial evidence, which runs in direct opposition to the traditional Holocaust narrative. "Where is the evidence," they say, "for this alleged gargantuan mass-murder? Where are the documents? Where are the traces and remains? Where are the weapons of murder?" These revisionists all acknowledge of course, that there was a terrible assault on Jews on the part of the National Socialist government, but disagree as to the scale, motive, and methods cited in the typical narrative, a narrative that most of us choose or are obliged to accept. "What befell the Jews", they say, "was a brutal ethnic cleansing accompanied by dispossession, pillage and massacre."

Mark Polger of CUNY argued that

“Revisionists don't claim that Jews didn't suffer. They don't argue the fact that Jews were, in fact, unwanted in Germany, and that there was a state policy to remove them as a “parasitic people” harmful to the country.....

Revisionists do claim and argue that there was no state policy that called for the “mass extermination of the Jews” or any other unwanted minorities.”

Hence no genocide. This is what the Zionists are saying today. Nonetheless hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have died.  By the estimate of a new study by Harvard University at least 377,000 Palestinians have been murdered or died in Gaza, 20% of the population.

A study quoted in the Lancet in July 2024 estimated that 186,000 or more Palestinians had died.

Today there is an exterminationist mentality in Israel which far exceeds anything in Nazi Germany.  In Germany those who wished to  annihilate the Jews were confined to a small section of the Nazi  party itself, the ‘old fighters’ and the SS hierarchy.  Finish them is the most popular car bumper sticker  in Israel.

In August 2024, in an episode of  Israel’s most popular podcast, Two Nice Jewish Boys, host Weinstein said:

If you gave me a button to just erase Gaza, every single living being in Gaza would no longer be living tomorrow. I would press it in a second.

No Israeli government minister or Netanyahu thought to condemn this genocidal talk because they, after all, have been indulging in similar rhetoric.

Most people in Germany did not know about the gas chambers or the Final Solution. They were a state secret which was jealously guarded. Most Nazis weren’t aware of the Final Solution.

By way of contrast in Israel everyone knows about the ongoing genocide.  Indeed a majority of the Israeli Jewish population wants to see Palestinians exterminated. The recent Pennsylvania State University poll shows that 47% of Israelis want to kill every single Palestinian in Gaza and over 60% believe that Amalek is relevant.  In other words over 60% of Israelis would like to see Palestinians in Gaza annihilated.

About this our rulers say nothing.  Instead they pretend that Israel is a ‘vibrant democracy’ (Kemi Badenoch). The rubbish this retard writes in The Times beggars belief.

Iran and Israel are not moral equivalents. Israel is a vibrant democracy that protects women and minorities and encourages them to vote, speak and dissent. In Iran women are brutalised by a theocratic dictatorship. Their ability to travel and work is restricted. They are beaten for showing their hair. Tortured for asking questions. Executed for demanding freedom.

Anyone who can’t see the difference between a liberal democracy and a terrorist regime needs to spend less time on social media and more time understanding reality.

When Iran launched its latest barrage of missiles, it didn’t target military installations. It targeted city centres. High rise housing. Hospitals. Civilians. This is a war crime, plain and simple. No excuses. No spin.

Given that Israel has targeted every single hospital in Gaza one might ask where this idiot has been.  To call her a holocaust denier is the least of it but this is the double-think our rulers operate under. Israel has bombed virtually every high rise in Gaza but according to this coconut Palestinians in Gaza don’t count. Black outside, white inside is the least that can be said about Badenoch.

What did Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of ‘liberal’ Israel say?

“You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible. And we do remember.”

As the anti-racist American magazine Mother Jones observed

There are more than 23,000 verses in the Old Testament. The ones Netanyahu turned to, as Israeli forces launched their ground invasion in Gaza, are among its most violent—and have a long history of being used by Jews on the far right to justify killing Palestinians. It went on to say that God commanded King Saul in the Book of Samuel I to kill every person in Amalek, a rival nation to ancient Israel.

“This is what the Lord Almighty says,” the prophet Samuel told Saul.

“‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”

Netanyahu was just one of the openly genocidal Israeli Ministers. Amichai Eliyahu wanted to simply drop a nuclear bomb on Gaza. The batshit Israeli Ambassador to London, Tzipi Hotoveli, openly speculated that 600,000 Palestinians could be murdered in Gaza and found that totally acceptable.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich talked about the total destruction of Gaza and wiping it out. There is no doubt about the genocidal intentions of Israeli Ministers and the actions of Israeli soldiers have been captured on camera.

Israeli soldiers themselves have boasted on innumerable social media posts of their deeds yet Zionist papers like the Jewish Chronicle have consistently denied that there was a holocaust. Indeed they have said that the Gazan Health Ministry has overestimated the number of Palestinian deaths.

Presumably massive bombing, the razing of Gaza to the ground, the bombing of hospitals and schools has had no effect because these damned Palestinians are like cockroaches, indestructible.

According to the Jewish Chronicle of 16 April 2025 ‘Hamas’ death toll figures are a sham – and now we have proof’. The more restrained ‘academic’ tones of the Islamaphobic Henry Jackson Society of 13 December 2024 held that there was ‘Questionable Counting: Analysing the Death Toll from the Hamas-Run Ministry of Health in Gaza.’ According to the neo-con Washington Institute for Near East Policy Gaza Fatality Data Has Become Completely Unreliable.

It seems as if holocaust denial has become a cottage industry and of course the holocaust-denier-in-chief is none other than Sir Kid Starver

No longer do we have the questionable counting, juggling of population figures and seizing on any minor inaccuracy by the holocaust deniers. There is simply outright denial despite the pictures of total devastation and destruction. Never has holocaust denial been so profitable and widely accepted. Just as the Zionists refused to accept that there was a holocaust at the time when Europe’s Jews were dying so now they deny that what they doing is a holocaust either.

Banning Gilad Atzmon from playing a jazz concert in Islington has nothing to do with opposing anti-Semitism

I oppose the ban on Atzmon not only because it's an attack on artistic freedom but because it's aimed at upholding not opposing racism

Gilad Atzmon has been banned by Islington Council from playing a jazz concert with the Blockheads under the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism. Yet the IHRA policy itself is both racist and anti-semitic.  Ipso facto any ban enacted under it can only be aimed at supporting and entrenching racism and anti-semitism.

I recently wrote about the disparity in sentencing between Israeli Jews  and non-Jews in Israel. An Israeli, Evyatar Damari, who was part of a lynch mob that killed an Eritrean refugee, Haftom Zarhum, in Beer Sheba's bus station received 4 months imprisonment. That was the most severe sentence. Most of the lynch mob either received community service or in the case of members of the prison service were simply not prosecuted.

I contrasted this with 16 year old Ahed Tamimi whose cousin, half an hour before, had been shot in the head by a plastic bullet. Ahed slapped a soldier who invaded the grounds of her house.  She received an 8 months sentence and the Education Minister, Naftali Bennett suggested she should spend the rest of her days in prison.
Yet if I call this racist then according to the IHRA misdefinition of anti-semitism, which states that calling Israel a 'racist endeavour' is itself anti-semitic, it is me who is anti-Semitic. Not only is the IHRA racist but in suggesting that Jews support Israeli racism it is also anti-Semitic. Yet this is the policy that is being used to ban Gilad Atzmon.  Clearly he isn't being banned on anti-racist grounds.

The Board of Deputies which opposes Atzmon's antisemitism is wholeheartedly in favour of Israeli snipers mowing down unarmed Palestinians - it sees no contradiction
Noone has been a greater critic of Atzmon over the years than me. Nearly 12 years ago I wrote one of the first critiques of Atzmon’s anti-Semitism, The Seamy Side of Solidarity in the Guardian’s Comment is Free, at a time when the Guardian wasn’t afraid of debating issues such as Zionism. I also organised a picket of Jews Against Zionism in June 2005 when Atzmon came to talk on Otto Weininger at the SWP’s Bookmarks.
Salvador Dalli was an admirer of Zionism, which he saw as a kindred spirit
My blog was initially set up in order to combat the pernicious influence of Atzmon in the Palestine solidarity movement. I have written dozens of articles analysing why Atzmon’s writings are both anti-Semitic and unhelpful to the struggle for Palestinian liberation. I produced A Guide to the Sayings of Gilad Atzmon, the anti-Semitic jazzman and in a review of his book The Wandering Who I described it as  Worthless and Devoid of All Originality. Other articles included Gilad Atzmon Comes Out - Now an open anti-Semite .  I penned a number of articles in Weekly Worker such as Time to say goodbye. Atzmon was not reticent in attacking me either, e.g. The Green(stein)-Eyed Monster.
In a debate with Atzmon, which has been widely quoted, I demonstrated how he was undoubtedly anti-Semitic and sympathetic to the arguments of holocaust denier Paul Eisen. During the course of this debate Atzmon described Eisen’s Holocaust Wars, which was paean to Ernst Zundel, an open Hitler worshipper, as ‘a great text’.
Salvador Dalli's Theatre/Museum at Figueres - Perhaps this too is not kosher?
You might therefore think that I would welcome the decision by Islington Council to ban Atzmon from playing a concert. I don’t. My objection was always to Atzmon’s politics.  I have never objected to his music. Although jazz is not my preferred musical form I recognise that Atzmon is a brilliant performer. For example he won the BBC Jazz Record of the Year in 2003 with Exile. Nor is he a fascist like many of his detractors.
It is utterly indefensible as well as being undemocratic to ban Atzmon’s music. It fits in well with the police state methods of the Israeli state which recently gaoled an Israeli Palestinian poet Dareen Tatour for writing a poem.  This is the same Israeli state which does nothing and says nothing when hundreds of Israeli Jews add ‘death to the Arabs’ to their twitter id.

The Jewish Chronicle's opposition to the antisemitic Atzmon does not apply to the racism of Zionism
The ban on Atzmon has nothing to do with anti-racism and is part of the Zionist attack on freedom of speech for Palestinians and anti-Zionists in Britain. To support it or say nothing is to give comfort to the racist supporters of the Israeli state.

The Article I wrote on Why Atzmon is Antisemitic
The ban on Atzmon is nothing less than cultural McCarthyism. It is wrong in principle. When you prevent someone performing because you disagree with their politics it is a slippery road to an authoritarian state. Perhaps we should ban T.S. Elliot’s poetry and Wasteland since Elliot was, without doubt, anti-Semitic. Maybe we should also ban the works of Ezra Pound who was far worse and a sympathiser with the Nazis. Undoubtedly we should ban anything connected with Salvador Dalli since he supported Franco and Hitler. [See When The Surrealists Expelled Salvador Dalí for “the Glorification of Hitlerian Fascism” (1934)] I confess here to having recently visited his theatre-museum in Figueres and found it thoroughly enjoyable (and also learnt that he was something of a Zionist – not unusual in fascist circles).
Salvador Dalli's Museum/Theatre at
For those doubting Thomases and professional searchers after anti-Semitism in the Jewish Labour Movement and other racist circles we should also ban Charles Dickens. Fagin, who ran a school of pick pockets, is perhaps the most notorious of all Jewish characters in English literature. In 1854 the Jewish Chronicle asked of Dickens why "Jews alone should be excluded from the 'sympathizing heart' of the author.
My review of Atzmon's Wandering Who
Dickens was a racist who also supported the infamous Governor Eyre, who declared Martial Law in Jamaica when there was a Black rebellion in 1865. Over 400 were hanged and 600 flogged (including women). This caused a massive controversy with Darwin on one side and Dickens alongside the white colonists and Tennyson.
And if the ban on Gilad Atzmon stands then we should definitely ban Shakespeare from the syllabus because there is no doubt that the Merchant of Venice with his pound of flesh is also anti-Semitic. Some people even believe that we should rewrite the Merchant of Venice and for good measure we should also ban Wagner’s music.
There is no love lost between Atzmon and myself but principles are somewhat more important
This is the cultural philistinism and barbarism that wretches like the Jewish Labour Movement’s Adam Langleben would have us indulge. The JLM, which is calling for the whip to be withdraw from Chris Williamson MP, whom it terms a ‘Jew baiter’ because he initially opposed the ban on Atzmon, is a group that has war criminal Ivor Caplin, a Defence Minister in Blair’s government at the time of the Iraqi invasion, as its Chair. At least Atzmon doesn’t have the blood of thousands of innocent people on his hands but Langleben, Caplin et al would have Atzmon’s music, which has hurt no one, banned.
‘This is the cultural philistinism and barbarism that wretches like the Jewish Labour Movement’s Adam Langleben would have us indulge.’
Whereas the Nazis banned books, the Zionists would ban music. As Heinrich Heine presciently remarked, those who burn books later burn people. The same is true of those who would ban Atzmon. There is a debate over politics and art but it is not one that the Langlebens and Caplins would even begin to understand.
Chris Williamson wasn't aware of Atzmon's antisemitism but nonetheless he is wrong to support a ban
The relationship between the artist and what they produce has always been a difficult and controversial one. Artists can create great music and art despite themselves because of the influence of society in all its forms upon them.  Their art is greater than them. Art and culture does not belong to the individual who created it but the society in which it is created.
Artists often create what they do despite their own politics and preferences. To expect that only politically correct artists or musicians will produce acceptable music or art is a form of cultural barbarism that reminds one of the Stalinist concept of socialist realism and art as a function of politics. The Nazis and Hitler in particular had a similar attitude to what they termed ‘degenerate’ art.
The reality is that people like Bob Dylan produced great music not because of their own intrinsic worthiness but because of the impact of the wider society upon them and their ability to synthesise that music into the moods of the time.  The genius of Dylan’s music is despite his worthlessness as an individual.
The attempt to ban Atzmon should be laughed out of court but given the intellectual poverty of the Labour Party’s Zionist witchunters and its machine politicians with their endorsement of the incoherent fulminations of the IHRA, the decision of Islington Council has not met with any substantive criticism. People have been intimidated. Even Chris Williamson has been forced to row back and apologise for his initial opposition to the ban when apprised of Atzmon’s anti-Semitism.
This campaign is utterly hypocritical. Atzmon’s anti-Semitism is not dangerous to Jews. Atzmon’s nonsense is a danger to Palestinians. That was why Ali Abunimah and other Palestinians issued a statement Granting No Quarter: A Call for the Disavowal of the Racism and Antisemitism of Gilad Atzmon because it tarnishes their struggle. ‘Anti-Semitism’ today is primarily either verbal or on social media.  Noone has died because of a Tweet or Facebook post.
What anti-Semitism exists today is either on social media or a reaction to Israel’s murderous barbarities.  Where anti-Semitism does have strong social roots, as in areas of Eastern Europe – Poland, Hungary – then one finds that these regimes are the best friends of Israel!  Indeed the absurdity is that it is European’s far-Right governments which are the strongest supporters of the IHRA, e.g. the neo-Nazi Freedom Party in Austria’s Government. Indeed Israel has been arming the neo-Nazi Azov Batalion in the Ukraine.
In reality Atzmon, who sees Zionism as the authentic expression of being Jewish, is a Zionist who doesn’t like what Zionism has become.  Unfortunately he expresses his dislike in anti-Semitic terms thus reinforcing Zionism. That is why he spends most of his time attacking Jewish anti-Zionists like me! I fully agree with the statement of Ali Abunimah and the other Palestinians. That is also why I disagree with this stupid, reactionary and counter-productive ban.

Fiasco In Islington

Gilad Atzmon
Jazz saxophonist and writer Gilad Atzmon was recently banned from playing at an assembly hall in Islington, a borough of London, by order of the Islington Town Council. This came about as a result of an e-mail from one person – Martin Rankoff – saying nothing more than that if Atzmon was going to be at the venue on December 21 he would give a ticket that was given to him to someone else.
Rankoff wrote, “Mr Atzmon’s news and beliefs I personally find repulsive and do not wish to be in the same place as him, let alone listen to his music.” Rankoff included links to ADL and Israeli news outlets accusing Atzmon of antisemitism. Incredibly, on the basis of this letter alone, the Islington Council went way out of its way and contacted the show’s promoter to get Atzmon banned—something Rankoff didn’t even ask for.
Imagine the situation in reverse: Gilad Atzmon writes a letter to the Council saying he is uncomfortable with Martin Rankoff appearing in the audience at Islington assembly hall. He refers to Mr. Rankoff’s pro-Israel Twitter page where Rankoff calls Jeremy Corbyn “A F***ing Antisemite and Racist” and where Corbyn is pictured on a bike with a comment suggesting Corbyn should be rammed by a car. Atzmon says that he doesn’t feel safe with Rankoff in the audience. He finds Mr. Rankoff’s support for Israel repulsive because Israel was founded on genocide against the people of Palestine. As proof he provides links to news reports on the slaughter of unarmed protestors in Gaza since March 30, 2018, and a story on the Deir Yassin massacre of 1948.
This imaginary second complaint would have been scorned as an abridgement of Rankoff’s rights. Indeed, since the Islington Council has adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism, in which criticism of Israel is deemed antisemitic, the Council would probably feel obliged to forward the letter to the authorities as evidence of hate speech.
The Council provided a statement on the banning in which it says:
“under the Equality Act 2010, the Council must, in the exercise of its functions, have due regard to the need to foster good relations between different races and religions within the borough. The Council took account of the fact that Mr Atzmon’s presence at the Hall, and knowledge of his presence among residents of the borough, might harm such relationships, as well as the Council’s duty to tackle prejudice and promote understanding within the borough.”
This begs the question — in what way would either the “presence” of Gilad Atzmon or “knowledge of his presence among residents” harm the relationship between different races and religions in the borough? Atzmon was to appear at the venue as a saxophone player in a jazz group. It’s hard to imagine a more severe inversion of the concept of discrimination. On the basis of the feelings of one complainant, the right of a musician to work or even be present in Islington is taken away.
What lies behind this is a familiar tactic. Zionists have no argument to counter critics of Israel, so they try to shut them up by attacking their character and robbing them of their livelihood. Now AIPAC and other lobbies are working to make it illegal to criticize Israel, as we see in the recent case of a Texas speech therapist whose yearly contract was denied because she refused to sign a pledge not to support a boycott of Israel. One might ask, what does a teaching position in Pflugerville, Texas have to do with one’s opinions about a country seven thousand miles away? And why does that country have the right to compel anyone in the US to sign a loyalty oath?
If the BDS movement doesn’t do it, zealotry and fanatacism will be the undoing of the Zionist project. People don’t like being told what they are allowed to think and say. When our words and thoughts are policed, it makes us question all the more. What were once decent leftist positions against racism and discrimination have been twisted into a new kind of totalitarianism, one in which it is racist to question the racist, and discriminatory to question discrimination; one in which we are told to think something doesn’t exist when we can see with our own eyes that it does. The self-righteous members of the Islington Town Council have set a very dangerous precedent, and have been used as fools on top of it.

The Holocaust Lies of Gilad Atzmon the anti-Semitic Jazzman

Why Atzmon plays fast and loose with Truth, History and Integrity

For those who want an acquaintance with Atzmon, you could do worse than consult my (now out of date) Guide to the Sayings of Gilad Atzmon.  Atzmon it should be explained was a famous jazz musician, having won the BBC jazz record of the year in 2003 with ‘Exile’.

It was, as lies go, only a little lie.  I asserted, on Atzmon’s Facebook page, that he was a Holocaust denier, citing his article Truth, History and Integrity. Quick as a flash Atzmon came back.  This was, yet one more false assertion, by me, his Jewish persecutor. Atzmon referred me to a statement he made at the Babylon, Theatre, Berlin of 14.12.17.

‘Tony Greenstein in case you didn’t know, Truth History and Integrity was integrated into The Wandering Who’ [his book].  Atzmon could not help but boast that ‘it was translated and published in every European language, including German.. If the text above was suggesting H denial the book would ve been banned and i would be arrested.’ As things stand I hold a post in Germany and I visit the country regularly! I am proud of my take on History above and repeated it last month in a massive marxist gathering in Berlin... enjoy yourself.’

Atzmon did not say what kind of post he holds in Germany.  I assume it is a wooden post as I cannot believe academic standards have fallen that low.

And at first sight it would appear that the passage below, from his book, is not a holocaust denial narrative, despite the suggestive passage that 'we must be entitled to ask questions' concerning Auschwitz.  What questions I wonder?

However it is yet one more Atzmon lie.  The book deliberately omits the passage I have bordered below in black from the original article.  No doubt it was with things like his visits to Germany in mind that he omitted this passage which makes it crystal clear that he doesn't accept the holocaust 'narrative' as he terms it.  In the article, but not the book, he says that the 'Holocaust narrative, in its current form, doesn't make any historical sense.'  He goes on to explain at the end of the omitted passage that 'I am left puzzled here, if the Nazis ran a death factory in Auschwitz-Birkenau, why would the Jewish prisoners join them at the end of the war.'  (my emphasis) The only conclusion to draw from the passage is that Auschwitz-Birkenau was not a death factory.  In short

the section of the book entitled Truth History and Integrity deliberately omits the section of the original article surrounded by a Black border below

The original Truth History and Integrity - the part surrounded by a Black border was not integrated into the book The Wandering Who?
I have, over the past decade, posted numerous articles about Atzmon, an Israeli born Zionist who masquerades as a supporter of the Palestinians. This blog owes its formation to Atzmon.  In June 2005 Atzmon was invited by the Socialist Workers Party to give a talk on Otto Weininger, a German Jewish fascist, at Bookmarx.  It was said that Hitler had joked that ‘I only knew one good Jew and he killed himself’!  Attending the talk was one Ian Donovan, now of Socialist Fight.

After refusing our request to cancel the talk, Jews Against Zionism organised a successful picket of the meeting.  We received the support of Professors Moshe Machover, Hilary and Stephen Rose – all of whom had made regular appearances till then at the SWP’s annual Marxism event.
Paul Eisen writes on the DYR site arguing that historical evidence suggests there was no Holocaust
It was about two years previously that a group of anti-Semites, who professed to support the Palestinians, had gathered in a group called Deir Yassin Remembered [DYR].  DYR had started off as a Palestine solidarity group which was committed to preserving the memory of the notorious massacre of the villagers of Deir Yassin in April 1948 by the Zionist terrorist groups Lehi and Irgun.

What supporter of Palestine didn’t want to support such a group?  It held annual concerts and the money helped pay for a scholarship for a Palestinian student.  It was or so it seemed, a most worthy cause.

DYR took in a number of otherwise wholly reputable individuals who sympathised with the Palestinians.  MPs such as Jeremy Corbyn and Gerald Kaufman attended their concerts.  It had the support of a number of anti-Zionist Israeli Jews such as Michel Warshawsky, Jeff Halper, Ilan Pappe and Lea Tsemel.  However when the group decided to invite Israel Shamir onto its board people began to resign.

The statement of Jeff Halper explaining why he left the DYR Board, shortly after Shamir joined it, is instructive.  In July 2005, shortly after JAZ had picketed the SWP’s meeting with Atzmon, two prominent Israeli anti-Zionists – Michel Warshawski and Lea Tsemel, also resigned.  Lea’s name is still on the Board of Advisors to this day

DYR had a solution to these resignations.  It simply refused to delete their names from the web site so you will still see some of their names on it over a decade after their resignation.  As Gabriel Ash remarkedThe Deir Yassin Remembered board is like Hotel California, you can check in any time you like, but you can never leave.’

Its British representative and Director was Paul Eisen, who later surfaced when false allegations of anti-Semitism were made against Jeremy Corbyn.

Shamir was first called out for his Jew hatred by Abunimah and Hussein Ibish in Serious Concerns About Israel Shamir.  The article is no longer on the Internet though Shamir’s reply is. (I have now reposted it)

Shamir has now all but disappeared publicly. You can get a taste of his politics in Who Needs Holocaust? In a dialogue with Atzmon, who at this time was not a holocaust denier, Shamir decries the idea that Auschwitz was an extermination camp.  This was merely:

Another go of Zionist propaganda. The camp was perceived as an internment facility, attended by the Red Cross ...  If it were bombed, the internees would die – or as a result of the bombing, or due to starvation for the supplies would not arrive. Indeed, would Gilad advise to bomb Guantanamo? This idea of “bombing Auschwitz” makes sense only if one accepts the vision of “industrial extermination factory”, and it was formed only well after the war.

DYR is a classical example of a false flag organisation. Set up for one purpose but fulfilling another. When it was approached in 2014 to support the Boycott of Idan Raichel, a prominent supporter of Zionism and Israel’s military the Deir Yassin Remembered Board labelled the Raichel boycott campaign “gatekeeping”, describing it as ‘a tactic used often by Zionists and by people like Ali Abunimah. Hence we would oppose DYR gatekeeping anyone, including this fellow.‘’  [BDS Attacked by the Deir Yassin Remembered

I first came into contact with Atzmon after he had penned an article The Protocols of the Elders Of London, the name being a take on the famous anti-Semitic forgery the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.  It attacks all those associated with Jews Against Zionism as ‘undercover Zionist agents’.

In ‘On Anti-Semitism’ Atzmon explained concerning the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, which were described by Norman Cohn as a ‘Warrant for Genocide’ that:

‘American Jewry makes any debate on whether the 'Protocols of the elder of Zion' are an authentic document or rather a forgery irrelevant. American Jews (in fact Zionists) do control the world.’

In Mein Kampf [174] Hitler wrote that ‘With groans and moan, the Frankfurter Zeitung repeats again and again that these are forgeries.   This alone is evidence in favour of their authenticity.

To Atzmon it is irrelevant if the Protocols are a forgery, because they are true, whereas for Hitler are ‘authentic’ precisely because they are true!  A distinction without a difference.

When I first corresponded with Atzmon after reading The Protocols of the Elders of London’ I took Atzmon to task for his having distributed an article by Paul Eisen, the British Director of DYR, entitled Holocaust Wars. It was a full-fledged defence of Ernst Zundel, a holocaust denier who was later imprisoned for 5 years in Germany for incitement to racial hatred. Atzmon responded to my criticism by saying

True I circulated Paul Eisen's paper. I do believe that argumentative texts must be circulated as widely as possible.... Furthermore, Let me assure you that if I ever see a great text written by yourself I ll be the first to circulate it.’  This is a book, one of whose subtitles is The Hitler we loved and why…’ in which Eisen explains that ‘Millions of Germans loved Hitler who for twelve years impacted on them as no German has or probably ever will, and, though they never say so, must, deep down still cherish his memory.’  It is a full throated defence of Holocaust denial  (my emphasis)

In the same correspondence Atzmon told me that ‘I regard Shamir as a unique and  advanced thinker.’

According to Atzmon I had falsely accused him of being a holocaust denier in ‘Truth, History and Integrity’ an article incorporated into his book, a book which was translated in German.  So I decided to investigate whether what Atzmon said was true and I had been maligning this noble, truthful figure.

I first went to Atzmon’s original essay ‘Truth, History and Integrity’: In the section ‘It doesn’t make sense’, the ‘it’ being the Holocaust, Atzmon wrote:

It took me years to accept that the Holocaust narrative, in its current form, doesn’t make any historical sense. Here is just one little anecdote to elaborate on:

If, for instance, the Nazis wanted the Jews out of their Reich... or even dead, as the Zionist narrative insists, how come they marched hundreds of thousands of them back into the Reich at the end of the war? I have been concerned with this simple question for more than a while. I eventually launched into an historical research of the topic and happened to learn from Israeli holocaust historian professor Israel Gutman that Jewish prisoners actually joined the march voluntarily. Here is a testimony taken from Gutman’s book

"One of my friends and relatives in the camp came to me on the night of the evacuation and offered a common hiding place somewhere on the way from the camp to the factory. …The intention was to leave the camp with one of the convoys and to escape near the gate, using the darkness we thought to go a little far from the camp. The temptation was very strong. And yet, after I considered it all  I then decided to join (the march) with all the other inmates and to share their fate " (Israel Gutman [editor], People and Ashes: Book Auschwitz - Birkenau, Merhavia 1957).

I am left puzzled here, if the Nazis ran a death factory in Auschwitz-Birkenau, why would the Jewish prisoners join them at the end of the war? Why didn’t the Jews wait for their Red liberators?

I think that 65 years after the liberation of Auschwitz, we must be entitled to start to ask the necessary questions. We should ask for some conclusive historical evidence and arguments rather than follow a religious narrative that is sustained by political pressure and laws. We should strip the holocaust of its Judeo-centric exceptional status and treat it as an historical chapter that belongs to a certain time and place

I then went to my copy of Atzmon’s book ‘The Wandering Who’ and turned to page 175 and what did I discover?  The first four paragraphs above had been omitted!  If Truth, History and Integrity had been ‘integrated’ into his book Atzmon had taken care not to integrate the very paragraphs in which he cast doubt on the Holocaust!  Presumably because, as he says, he didn’t want to get arrested in Germany.

However Ian Donovan of Socialist Fight described ‘Greenstein’s campaign between 2005 and 2010’ as an attempt ‘to witchhunt the Socialist Workers Party for hosting Atzmon’s gigs, and maintaining a fraternal dialogue with him, before they finally capitulated.’
Gilad Atzmon can claim some originality in distinguishing between Marxism and 'Jewish Marxism' given that Marx was Jewish
Donovan and Gerry Downing seriously believe that it is the job of socialists to maintain ‘a fraternal dialogue’ with someone who when not denying the Holocaust justifies it. Someone who states, in Tribal Marxism for Dummies that there is a distinction to be made between Marxism and what he calls ‘Jewish Marxism’ which is very different from Marxism or socialism in general. While Marxism is a universal paradigm, its Jewish version is very different.’

Atzmon detests, like Donovan himself, the Jewish Bund. In Swindler’s List he states that Bundists believe that instead of robbing Palestinians we should all get together and rob who is considered to be the rich, the wealthy and the strong in the name of working class revolution.’

In reality Socialist Fight are now acting as little more than ‘left’ apologists for Atzmon.  See Why the Steering Committee are proposing that Socialist Fight [SF] should be excluded from Labour Against the Witch-hunt  see also
