More Fake Anti-Semitism as MPs stage ‘debate’

Once again no evidence of anti-Semitism is provided as Barry Gardiner makes a humiliating and grovelling apology to the Apartheid State's apologists

In the Commons today there was a debate on Anti-Semitism in Modern Society. All the main culprits spoke. The Tories facilitated the debate because ‘anti-Semitism’ is a useful weapon in their attempts to destroy the Corbyn leadership. Labour MPs, including the new ‘Independent’ Group, queued up to lend their support.
Barry Gardiner - Racist Supporter of Labour Friends of Israel
Barry Gardiner made a grovelling and humiliating apology for an anti-Semitism that simply doesn’t exist.  It is a fiction, dreamt up by supporters of Israel. What is interesting is that Gardiner just happens to be a supproter of Labour Friends of Israel. In other words he supports the racist ‘Jewish’ state that allows Arabs to be sacked for not being Jews.  This is the vile racism that bigots like Gardiner are willing to cover for. Imagine if, in Britain, Jews were sacked for being Jewish.  Now that would be anti-Semitic.
When the IHRA was adopted last September, thanks to Jon Lansman and Momentum nationally, it was said that this would put the anti-Semitism smears to bed.  Labour Against the Witchhunt argued that the opposite would happen and once again we have been proved to be correct.
In the debate there were no specific allegations made about this all-embracing anti-Semitism in the Labour Party. It was merely accepted as a self-evident truth.  That however didn’t stop Joan Ryan, Ruth Smeeth, John Mann et al from waxing lyrical on how emotionally draining this all was.
Councillor Anne Meadows - Labour turned Tory - sacked because she was lazy and useless
Of interest to those in Brighton and Hove is the statement of Lewes MP Maria Caulfield who asked:

Will the Prime Minister join me welcoming Councillor Anne Meadows, who has today left the Labour party in Brighton and Hove City Council, crossing the floor to join the Conservatives, who are now the largest group on the council? Councillor Meadows left the Labour party because of the rise of antisemitism and bullying that she and her colleagues have experienced from Momentum activists—so much so that only seven of the 23 councillors will be standing again in May. Does the Prime Minister agree that antisemitism is rife throughout the whole Labour party?
Ms Meadows was deselected as a Councillor for Moulsecoomb because she was useless and lazy. She has crossed the floor and the Tories may end up running the Council.  That is called democracy.
The fact that Meadows joined the Tories demonstrates how right we were to deselect her
Matthew Offord – racist MP for Hendon
Matthew Offord, an otherwise undistinguished bigot and MP for Hendon let the cat out of the bag when stated that:
The antisemitism of recent years has taken the form of criticism of Zionism and of the actions and policies of the Government of Israel, which has often manifested itself in direct action, such as the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement. However, the new line of attack is different from traditional antisemitism, meaning the hatred of Jews, claims that Jews are inferior to others or a belief in a worldwide Jewish conspiracy or the Jewish control of capitalism. The new antisemitism differs in the political voices from which it comes. Previously antisemitism was perceived as coming from the political right, but the new antisemites are primarily on the left and, indeed, the far left.
This is the big lie that the mass media, from the Guardian to the Sun espouses.  Anti-Zionism is the new form of anti-Semitism.  If you criticise the Israeli state, not just the government but the racist state itself, then you are anti-Semitic. Let us examine this with the following story from this week’s news.
In The Times of Israel last Saturday there was a story Settlement fires school’s Israeli Arab cleaning staff after threats from parents. The parents of the children in a school objected to the Israeli Palestinian workers who were the cleaners. These workers are Israeli citizens. The Times of Israel reported that ‘Parents in the settlement of Karnei Shomron appealed last week to the head of the local council, Yigal Lahav, and threatened to shutter the school until all Arab cleaners were removed.  One parent wrote:
Karnei Shomrin settlement in the West Bank

‘“Yes, we are racists. The lives of our children come first, we are racists and we love the Jewish race.”
Imagine that Jewish workers in Britain were sacked because they were Jewish by those proclaiming they loved the Christian Anglo-Saxon race?  Now that would be anti-Semitic.
This is the situation in Israel. Naked Jewish racial supremacy that MPs Gardiner, Offord, Hodge, Berger and Smeeth defend calling criticism ‘anti-Semitism’. What happened in Karnei Shomron is not unique.
More Israeli Jews support the deportation of Israel’s Arab citizens than oppose it and 79% believe Jews should be treated preferentially.  That is what a Jewish state really means.
And this is what the debate was about.  It is unfortunate that Jeremy Corbyn and the ‘left-wing’ of the PLP are too politically feeble and spineless to stand up and point out to those who argue that anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism are one and the same that they are supporting the parents of Karnei Shomron. Opposition to Zionism is not equivalent to anti-Semitism.  It is Zionism, with its belief in the superiority of the ‘Jewish race’ which owes most to anti-Semitism.
The local council of this settlement, which was reluctant to dispense with the Arab cleaners (no doubt because they are vastly underpaid and overworked) stated that:
‘“The atmosphere in the community led to inappropriate behavior toward the cleaning women, and even harassment and threats to some members of the parents’ committee,”
This included threats from their Nazi like children to the cleaners, because yes this behaviour is Nazi like. Yet this is the kind of behaviour that the Jewish Nation State Law passed last summer gives a green light to.
And what were the anti-Semitic statements that the Blessed Margaret Hodge highlighted, the only examples given in the whole of the debate?
1.    “He needs to check out the love fest between the Zionists and the Nazis.’ Whether this is right or wrong it isn’t anti-Semitic. As the incident in Karnei Shomron demonstrates there is a close affinity between Nazi and Zionist belief in racial superiority.
2.    ‘People are finding out how much power Jews have. They seem to have a lot of power over the main opposition party. Might they rebel if…the reason they didn’t get a job or a home was because a Jew got it.’
Yes this is anti-Semitic though we don’t know if it was a Labour Party member who said this. However Zionism speaks in the name of Jews and unfortunately some people draw the wrong conclusion that the Zionists speak the truth when they boast of their influence.
3.    You are paid by Israel to destabilise UK Labour.’ Joan Ryan demonstrated this when she was gifted a £1 million slush fund, as captured on the Al Jazeera film The Lobby. There is no doubt that some MPs are in receipt of funding from the Israel lobby.  Did Joan Ryan declare the £1m?
4.    ‘A Zionist plot to oust Jeremy Corbyn.’ How is this anti-Semitic? Zionist organisations have done little else than attack Corbyn for the past 3 years.
5.    A swastika is appropriate as Israel is a fascist state.” It may not be strictly true that Israel is a fascist state but saying that the Swastika is appropriate for a state based on racial supremacy is not anti-Semitic.
So out of 5 statements, just one is anti-Semitic.  Par for the course and let us not forget that the first statement is just that, a form of words that harms no one whereas sacking low paid cleaners because they are Arabs and physically harassing them is far far worse but that is what Offord, Berger, Smeeth and Mann devote their political lives to supporting.

Profile of the most travelled MP in Parliament - John ‘rent-a-mouth’ Mann

John Mann MP – the Bigot with a Big Mouth for Bassetlaw – a reactionary for all seasons

I am indebted for this profile of John Mann MP, one of the key figures behind the  fake ‘anti-Semitism’ smears of the past 3 years, to Koser Saeed. See Spotlight
I have covered John Mann before notably when he lied about and harassed a 90 year old Jewish Dr Glatt and Graham Martin, his adviser.
Mann is Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group Against Antisemitism. It is a Committee whose primary concern is to use ‘anti-Semitism’ as a protective shield to Zionism and the actions of the Israeli state. The Committee has played an important part in the lead up to the current anti-Semitism smears.
The APPGAA is stuffed with members of the Conservative and Labour Friends of Israel such as Luciana Berger, Mike Freer, Ruth Smeeth, Wes Streeting, Matthew Offord and Bob Blackman. None of them has any record of criticism of Israel’s nakedly racist treatment of its own Palestinian citizens, to say nothing of the Occupation.

Many like Bob Blackman are racists in their own right. See Tory MP accused of Islamophobia after posting anti-Muslim article on Facebook.
Mann has done very well out of his concern for ‘anti-Semitism’ and is the most travelled  of any MP in the Commons.
The Committee, chaired once by right-wing Labour MP Dennis McShane, who was gaoled for his part in the expenses scandal, produced a Report into Anti-Semitism in September 2006.
The most ludicrous of all the observations of this Committee was in paragraph 79 where it stated that:
The Israeli government itself may, at times, have mistakenly perceived criticism of its policies and actions to be motivated by antisemitism, but we received no evidence of the accusation of antisemitism being misused by mainstream British Jewish community organisations  and leaders.
Ten years later the President of the Board of Deputies, Jonathan Arkush, attacked Corbyn as an anti-Semite and stated that a Jewish group, Jewdas were ‘the source of virulent anti-Semitism’. One wonders if this qualifies as misuse of the accusation of anti-Semitism.
John Mann - Rent-a-mouth MP
The Report stated that ‘anti-Zionist discourse can be polluted with antisemitic themes’ which can happen, but far more widespread is the incidence of anti-Semites hiding their anti-semitism behind support for Israel and Zionism. E.g. Richard Spencer the neo-Nazi founder of the alt-Right in the USA, the organiser of the neo-Nazi demonstration in Charlottesville, has declared himself a White  Zionist. Spencer was effusive in his support of Israel’s Apartheid Jewish Nation State Law. As Ha’aretz noted:
In a series of tweets, Spencer writes of his admiration for the law, which confers the right to national self-determination in Israel to the Jewish people alone, and says Jews are 'showing a path forward for Europeans'
Israel provides a model for White supremacists internationally.  The JNSL, which excludes 20% of its population from any claim to the land they live in, is a blueprint for White Supremacists. Yet Mann and his acolytes have never, not once, ever mentioned that the incidence of Palestinian supporters using anti-Semitic rhetoric is far outweighed by ardently Zionist anti-Semites in Christian fundamentalist and White Supremacist groups.  People like Steve Bannon who combines anti-Semitism with Zionism e.g. his description of Jewish children, whom he didn’t want his own children to go to school with, as whiny brats.’

There is, of course, no acceptance that criticism of Israel is motivated by its own racism.  Only last week Israel's Knesset rejected by 71-38 votes a Bill which would have enshrined equality between Jews and non-Jews in its Constitution.

Mann is an all-purpose bigot.  He’s not only a supporter of Zionist racism, he is a prominent Brexit supporter because it will stop immigration into the UK. He is also the author of a virulently racist ‘Bassetlaw anti-social behaviour handbook’  where advice is given to his constituents on how to deal with ‘loitering by youths’, ‘graffiti’, ‘neighbours from hell’, ‘alcohol’ – and ‘travellers’. In other words Travellers, Gypsies and Roma are one more social nuisance to be dealt with by way of an ASBO.’ See John Mann MP’s opposition to ‘anti-Semitism’ doesn’t extend to Gypsies and Travellers
John Mann was been one of the main witchunters in the Labour Party.  He staged a famous confrontation with Ken Livingstone because the latter accurately described the Nazis as supporting Zionism.  He called for my expulsion saying my membership of the Labour Party was ‘wholly inappropriate’ (presumably only racists like himself should be members). He has led the false accusations of anti-Semitism and the attacks on Jeremy Corbyn.
Despite his pretensions to be an anti-racist Mann was an outspoken supporter of former New Labour Minister Phil Woollas MP.  Woollas was removed as an MP by an Election Court because of outrageous and racist lies he told about his Lib Dem opponent. Rejoice - Phil Woolas - New Labour Racist Ejected from Parliament
When Harriet Harman cast Woolas adrift John Mann told her that 'a period of silence would be very welcome.' A paraphrase of a quote from Attlee. Clearly Mann did not understand the irony of him telling anyone to be quiet.

John Mann profile
• Member of Parliament for Bassetlaw CLP since 2001
• Formerly a councillor in the London Borough of Lambeth.
• Mann’s employs his wife, Joanna White (herself a Labour councillor and deputy leader of Bassetlaw District Council), as a part-time office manager and covers her salary through parliamentary expenses.
• Used to work for the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union as Head of Research and Education
• Used to be the National Training Officer at the TUC National Education Centre in North London
• Mann was the national trade union officer during the 1997 general election
• Mann served on the Treasury Select Committee in 2003–2005 and again 2009–2015
• Mann is a Hard Brexiteer. He focused his referendum campaign on immigration and continues to bring the focus back onto immigration even after the referendum campaign.
• Mann has been interviewed by the police over a complaint about a brochure that he issued on anti-social behaviour, which singled out one ethnic community (travellers).
• Mann has opposed Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership from the start.
• Mann was behind a North Nottinghamshire enquiry that called for heroin addicts to be offered the option of treatment or prison. With new reforms and more local GPs trained to help heroin addicts, the number of addicts in treatment in Bassetlaw rose from 2 to 400, and crimes involving shoplifting, burglary, theft and robbery fell by 75%
• Mann was the first Labour MP to call for Gordon Brown to resign after the 2010 general election and had previously attacked him when he was prime minster
• Mann was very vocal during the expenses scandal and highly critical of certain mps
• In 2014, Mann compiled a dossier of historic allegations of child abuse involving 12 former ministers
• Mann has accused Corbyn of being lax when it came to acting over allegations of child abuse in his constituency. However, as far as I’m aware, Mann hasn’t held any other MPs up to the same level of scrutiny that he has reserved for Corbyn on these matters.
• Mann campaigned to leave during the EU referendum, convinced that the Labour membership supported the Leave campaign and not Labour's (or Corbyn’s) official stance of supporting the Remain campaign. In reality 65% of Labour voters backed remain, although Mann’s own constituency voted 68% to Leave.
• Mann chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group against Antisemitism, who commissioned the "All-Party Parliamentary Inquiry into Antisemitism" in 2005. The report was printed in 2006 and recommended, amongst other things, a crackdown on ‘anti-Jewish activity’ on university campuses.
• In May 2009, Mann received the American Jewish Committee's Jan Karski Award in recognition of his commitment to fighting antisemitism.
• Mann is also the chair of the Inter-parliamentary Coalition for Combating Antisemitism
• Mann expects Corbyn to give special attention for fighting anti-Semitism above all other forms of racism impacting all other minority groups. In June 2017, he criticised Jeremy Corbyn because he was "not prepared to make a speech exclusively, explicitly, just on antisemitism"
• April 2016, Mann publicly attacked Ken Livingstone (a longstanding critic of Israeli policy regarding the Palestinians and who had previously had run-ins with Board of Deputies of British Jews) for saying that Adolf Hitler "was supporting Zionism before he went mad and ended up killing six million Jews". Livingstone was in fact referencing the writings of Lenni Brenner, an American Trotskyist writer, born to an Orthodox Jewish family but later turned atheist. Brenner was in fact a prominent civil rights activist in the 60’s and an opponent of the Vietnam War. The historical accuracy of this claim continues to be widely debated but Mann took the statement as an opportunity to publicly attack Livingstone and accuse him of being a "Nazi apologist"
• In January this year, Mann wrote an article for the Jewish News (Times of Israel), in which he attacked Jackie Walker and suggest her claims of a Witch Hunt were nothing more than conspiracy theories. He accused Jackie, a Jewish woman, of promoting AntiSemitic tropes and peddling lies. However, Jackie responded by saying that it was obvious that she was targeted for being a Corbyn supporter and that she had been fighting fascists and Anti-Semites on the streets for years and was never once accused of promoting AntiSemitic tropes before Corbyn came along.
• On 17th July 2018, John Mann was one of 5 Labour MPs (Frank Field, Kate Hoey, Kelvin Hopkins and Graham Stringer being the other 4) who voted with the Tories to REJECT a clause that “would make it a negotiating objective of the UK to establish a free trade area for goods between the UK and the EU and if that cannot be agreed then it should be the objective of the UK to secure an agreement to enable the UK’s participation in a customs union with the EU. With a final vote of 307 : 301, it is widely believed that these 5 rebel Labour MP’s were largely responsible for saving Theresa May’s bacon and staving off a potential snap election and therefore the likely ascension of a Corbyn led government.
• On 20th June 2018, John Mann was one of 4 Labour MPs (Frank Field, Kate Hoey and Graham Stringer being the other 3), who voted with the Tories to “NOT to require the Government's future plans in relation to the UK's withdrawal from the European Union to be put to MPs for approval following the eventualities of: MPs rejecting a withdrawal agreement; no withdrawal agreement being reached by 21 January 2019; or the Prime Minister stating no withdrawal agreement can be reached.”
• On 12th June 2018, John Mann was one of 7 Labour MPs (Frank Field, Kate Hoey, Graham Stringer, Ronnie Campbell, Kelvin Hopkins and Dennis Skinner being the other 6), who voted with the Tories to “NOT to ensure Parliamentary approval is required before regulations setting the date of the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union are made”
• On 12th June 2018, John Mann was one of 5 Labour MPs (Frank Field, Kate Hoey, Graham Stringer and Ronnie Campbell being the other 4), who voted with the Tories to REJECT allowing a minister to alter the date for the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union.
• On 17th January 2018, John Mann was one of 5 Labour MPs (Frank Field, Kate Hoey, Kelvin Hopkins and Graham Stringer being the other 4), who voted with the Tories for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union
• On 20th December 2017, John Mann was one of 2 Labour MPs (Caroline Flint being the other), who voted with the Tories to REJECT “holding a referendum to choose between either accepting the terms of an agreement for the United Kingdom's Withdrawal from the European Union or remaining a member of the European Union.”
• On 11th September 2017, John Mann was one of 7 Labour MPs (Frank Field, Kate Hoey, Graham Stringer, Ronnie Campbell, Kelvin Hopkins and Dennis Skinner being the other 6), who voted with the Tories to “end the supremacy of European Union law in United Kingdom law and convert EU law into domestic law on the UK's exit from the European Union.”
• On 8th February 2017, John Mann was one of 6 Labour MPs (Frank Field, Kate Hoey, Graham Stringer, Kelvin Hopkins and Gisela Stuart being the other 5), who voted with the Tories “against making a report on a referendum for ratifying the United Kingdom's new relationship with the European Union a prerequisite for the Prime Minister giving notification of the United Kingdom's intent to withdraw from the European Union.”
• On 14th Sept 2016, John Mann was one of 5 Labour MPs (Kate Hoey, Graham Stringer, Dennis Skinner and Gisela Stuart being the other 4), who voted with the Tories in favour of withdrawing UK membership of the EU.
• On 20th July 2016, John Mann was one of 8 Labour MPs (Nick Brown, Ronnie Campbell, John Cryer, Rob Marris, Dennis Skinner, John Spellar and Graham Stringer being the other 7), who voted with the Tories “against proportional representation for electing MPs and against reducing the voting age to 16.”
• On 30th Jan 2014, John Mann was one of 10 Labour MPs (Hazel Blears, Jim Dowd, Natascha Engel, Kate Hoey, Siobhain McDonagh, Graham Stringer, Gisela Stuart, Derek Twigg and Keith Vaz being the other 9), who voted with the Tories to only allow “human rights grounds to be used to prevent a foreign criminal being deported in cases where there would be a breach of the right to life, or right not to be tortured” and also for “adding a new exemption to deportation for cases where harm to the criminal's children outweighs the public interest in removal.”
• On 27th June 2012, John Mann was one of 3 Labour MPs (Alex Cunningham and Alan Whitehead being the other 2), who voted NOT to approve a motion to “strengthen the notification requirements which apply to sex offenders under Part 2 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, requiring notification to the police of all foreign travel and of information in relation to residence, banking arrangements and passports and other forms of identification. Further requirements include notification of information on residence on a weekly basis where there is no sole or main residence and to notify where the offender stays for at least 12 hours in a household with a child”.
• On 14th March 2006, John Mann was one of 71 Labour MPs who voted with the Tories to reject an amendment that would have made it illegal for the docking of dogs' (the surgical removal of dogs tails) for anything other than the purpose of medical treatment.
• In 2012, John Mann’s wife was sent a dead bird by a disgruntled local (Roger Dyas-Elliott), over what is believed to have been a council matter. However, Mann later reported this as an incident of Anti-Semitism and attributed it to Momentum activists. However, Momentum wasn’t set up until 2015 (3yrs after the incident) and, in fact, it was established by Jewish members of the Labour Party.
• Mann also claimed that he and his son have received Islamist death threats, linked to Anti-Semitism, as well as death threats from pro-hunting campaigners and from the extreme right and even from a drug dealer. However, what’s odd is that he’s only very recently claimed that they were linked to Anti-Semitism on the left.
• In August this year, John Mann called for special privileges for Jewish Labour MPs, calling for them to be “automatically reselected at elections”.
• In June 2017, shortly after the general election, Mann admitted in an article in the Independent that “he was wrong about Jeremy Corbyn's electability” and that he did not expect “the strength of support that was galvanised in many parts of the country”.
• However, in October this year, the BBC reported that Members of Parliament had benefitted from more than £2m worth of free overseas trips over the last two years and that Mann had registered more trips than any other MP, with eight overseas visits on the Register of Interests over the last year. Mann claimed the trips were "part of the job". Most were in fact related to his role as the UK chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee Against Antisemitism. One assumes therefore that the dawning realisation of Corbyn’s apparent electability had raised a few concern with the Inter-Parliamentary Committee Against Antisemitism and, perhaps, with interested parties in Israel as well?

The Campaign Against ‘Anti-Semitism’ Assemble a Representative Section of Racists & Reactionaries

Widely suspected to be funded by Israel's Ministry of Strategic Affairs, as part of a dirty tricks campaign to take out (their words) the campaign for Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions, the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism have consistently attacked Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party as racist and anti-Semitic.
On April 9th they called a tiny demonstration of hard-line racists and fascists outside Labour’s headquarters as part of their long standing campaign against Jeremy Corbyn because of his support for the Palestinian.  No less than 182 articles on their web site attack Corbyn. Their Chair, Falter stated that
“Under Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour Party has been seized by racists. Jeremy Corbyn is at home amongst them, having spent his political career seeking out and giving his backing to Holocaust deniers, genocidal antisemitic terrorist groups, wild antisemitic conspiracy theorists and a litany of Jew-haters. This is the point of no return: Britain must stand up for its Jewish community against the racists in control of the Labour Party.
Falter, is a Director of the openly racist Jewish National Fund, which owns and controls 93% of land in Israel yet refuses to lease or rent any of that land to Israeli Arabs.
Over 5,000 people have signed a petition calling on the Charity Commission to deregister this racist charity.  The article below takes a look at the CAA’s patrons.  It is a very interesting article and shows how these political reactionaries are united in their Islamaphobia and racism.

Over 5,000 people have signed a petition calling on the Charity Commission to deregister this racist charity.  The article below takes a look at the CAA’s patrons.  It is a very interesting article and shows how these political reactionaries are united in their Islamaphobia and racism.

The Campaign Against Antisemitism has issued what it grandly calls a “J’Accuse” against the Labour Party, and in particular its leader Jeremy Corbyn. Chairman Gideon Falter has claimed “Under Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour Party has been seized by racists. Jeremy Corbyn is at home amongst them, having spent his political career seeking out and giving his backing to Holocaust deniers, genocidal antisemitic terrorist groups, wild antisemitic conspiracy theorists and a litany of Jew-haters”. The CAA says Labour is a racist party.

Moreover, they have warned “The complaint will be vigorously pursued by Campaign Against Antisemitism, and our lawyers if necessary”. Well, one hates to rain on this particular parade, but I have to tell the CAA that when it comes to harbouring racism, they might just be standing in an extremely draughty glasshouse.
This post was withdrawn when they realised the holocaust justification that  was blamed on Jackie Walker actually came a quotation by Jackie from David Ben Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister
A perusal of the CAA’s list of Honorary Patrons shows why this might be: it includes at least six individuals who have either exhibited racist behaviour, used racism for their own ends, or been singularly unwise in their choice of language in areas concerning race.

Merely unfortunate in his choice of words is George Carey, former Archbishop of Canterbury. Back in 2004, the by now retired Carey found himself in hot water, as the Guardian reported: “Muslim groups yesterday reacted with dismay to a speech in Rome by George Carey, the former archbishop of Canterbury, in which he attacked Islamic culture, criticised the religion's leaders for not speaking out strongly enough about terrorism, and said it was a faith associated with violence around the world”.
Malaka Shwaik Mohammed, a 26 year old Ph. D. Student at Exeter University was demonised by the CAA
On he droned: “Mohammed, acknowledged by all in spite of his religious greatness to be an illiterate man, is said to have received God's word direct ... from angels, and scribes recorded them later ... During the past 500 years, critical scholarship has declined, leading to strong resistance to modernity”. Carey was foolish. But the CAA has no problem there.
The litany of shame continues with the presence of one Eric Pickles, whose manipulation of racism for his own benefit is well known to anyone who observed his political rise as a Councillor at Bradford Metropolitan District Council in the 1970s and 1980s. Pickles had been a progressive Conservative in his early days, anti-racist, consensual and small-L liberal. This changed when Ray Honeyford came along.

Honeyford was appointed headmaster of Drummond Middle School in Bradford, located in an area which had a racially diverse population. While in that job, he wrote an article for the Salisbury Review, which at the time was “pro-repatriation”. Very few people read the piece, as the Salisbury Review enjoyed a very small circulation. But then someone at the right-leaning Yorkshire Post had it reprinted in that publication, and all hell broke loose.

One look at the title of Honeyford’s article tells you why: “Education and Race - an alternative view”. The contents were little short of incendiary. The local education authority decided Honeyford had to go. But Tory high command, which included then PM Margaret Thatcher, decided otherwise. In this, she was backed up forcefully by the Daily Mail, even then a force for vicious, reactionary, and borderline racist views.
The CAA have 182 articles on their web site, all of them bitterly hostile to Corbyn
Pickles abandoned his previous principled stance and became a populist. He kept his council seat, and became favourably regarded by Mrs T., by backing Honeyford - a racist, and one who was forever unrepentant. This now supposedly distinguished Tory elder statesman manipulated race issues for his own benefit.

He is not alone in the list of CAA Honorary Patrons. A veritable triumvirate of them participated in a shameless exploitation of racism in order to garner votes last year, as Zelo Street noted at the time. When the National Council of Hindu Temples launched what it called Operation Dharmic Vote last year, in the run-up to the General Election, this was noting less than the importing of Indian sub-continent racism to the UK.

They told “Say No to Caste Law … Why this should concern you … For the GE17 election, the Dharmic community needs to vote in large numbers and strategically. Political Party alliances and affiliations need to be set aside. Labour, LibDems, Greens and all the nationalist parties have supported caste legislation bar the odd MP in these parties. As you will see ALL the Prospective Parliamentary Candidates who have signed up are Conservative”. And what was this “Caste Law”, perchance?

The Wembley Matters blog quoted a local resident: “Caste discrimination is endemic within parts of the Hindu and Sikh communities in the UK - there have been instances of doctors refusing to give medical treatment to Dalits and others where Dalit couples have been refused venues for weddings. It is a discrimination which remains largely hidden to wider society”. Dalits are still referred to on occasion as Untouchables.
The Three CAA Honorary Patrons who backed Operation Dharmic Vote - thus attempting to benefit from racism to enhance their General Election returns - were Bob Blackman (Harrow East), Matthew Offord (Hendon), and Mike Freer (Finchley and Golders Green). All three participated willingly in racist politics. And, for Blackman, there was more.

The Harrow East MP hosted a meeting in Committee Room 12 of the House of Commons last October which was addressed by Tapan Ghosh, whose Twitter bio states “Uncompromising Hindu activist of Bengal. Determined to fight against Islamic aggression and expansion”. Ghosh is an Islamophobic and also anti-Christian bigot. He is a hate preacher. He has endorsed the likes of Geert Wilders.
Ghosh dressed up his bigotry in his talk “Tolerating the intolerant” as “800 years of defending human rights”. And that is not all: this talk not only took aim at “800 years of Arabic Islamic aggression” (Muslims in Bengal are not Arabs), but also “200 years of European Christian aggression”. Tapan Ghosh is as anti-Christian as he is anti-Islam. He claimed that the Rohingya refugees who have fled Myanmar in their hundreds of thousands are “violent”. But Blackman is welcomed by the CAA.
And finally, also welcomed by the CAA as an Honorary Patron is Richard Kemp. That’s the same Richard Kemp who attacked Sayeeda Warsi in a Jewish News column, an act that triggered a libel action and a front page apology. That apology bears close scrutiny.

In a column written by Colonel Richard Kemp published in the Jewish News and jewishnews.co.uk on 6 April 2017, it was suggested that Baroness Sayeeda Warsi has sought to excuse the appalling conduct of the barbaric Islamic State terror group

… The column also suggested that Baroness Warsi has objected to action being taken against British Muslims who murder and rape for Islamic State. We wish to make absolutely clear that these allegations were wholly untrue and should never have been published”.

Sayeeda Warsi had her costs paid, plus damages of £20,000. And this was not an isolated incident: Kemp approvingly cites organisations like the Gatestone Institute, and more disturbingly, Breitbart, an Islamophobic organisation which has also promoted white supremacists. He is a nailed-on bigot of the crudest and most blatant kind.

Yet here is Richard Kemp, proudly presented as an Honorary Patron of an organisation that is today calling “racist” on others.

Small wonder the Campaign Against Antisemitism knows all about racism. Perhaps Gideon Falter might also find it useful to consult the dictionary definition of hypocrisy.
