As Predicted We are Seeing the Same Smears That Were Used to Destroy Corbyn Being Deployed Against Jewish & Muslim anti-Zionists & Supporters of the Palestinians
I was given the email of the co-chairs of the GP Council except that the e-mail bounced back. The malevolence of the suspension is only matched by its incompetence.
Attached to the e-mail was a document from the
GP Council which stated that the basis of the decision was a
‘Documented history of antisemitism, including court decisions and recent terrorism charges.’
The only problem was that there was no documentation nor will there be any, since none exists, but that did not stop the Green Council which suspended me from going ahead. It raises questions about the calibre of those who are sitting in judgement on others.
It is never a good idea to take the word of Zionists on trust since
lying is second nature to them. Of course they might quote themselves as ‘proof’
but that is all they will be able to turn up.
If Tony Greenstein is not reinstated I shall withdraw my support for the Green Party and I am sure many more will leave. This is the Labour party all over again

The decision to suspend me was approved by 11-1 and it named the source
of the complaint as the Brighton local party. I immediately replied stating
that the Chair of Brighton & Hove Greens Joe Skeaping assured me that the
complaint did not originate from the local party. It must have been a Zionist
member of the party, quite likely Mark Strong, who was involved in
filibustering the Zionism is Racism motion.
This whole process, known as a ‘no fault suspension’, proves that racism
is alive and well in the GP. It is also proof that the GP is not a democratic or
anti-imperialist party.
The Green Party has suspended anti-Israel activist Tony Greenstein, a founding member of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, citing his "documented history of antisemitism.

Although the GP says it supports the Palestinians it continues to allow
Zionists to accuse Palestinian supporters of ‘anti-Semitism’ without fearing
any comeback. It is a new low to accuse a leading Jewish anti-Zionist of being
an anti-Semite.
The GP has never been involved in Palestine solidarity work. Its policy
on BDS has always been a dead letter. It has spent most of its existence facing
both ways. Opposing Israeli oppression in words whilst supporting its existence
as an Apartheid State in practice.
Israel is a state of Jewish Supremacy even Israeli human rights group B'tselem has concluded. Its very existence is predicated on ethnic cleansing and apartheid. Yet the GP still has policy supporting the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism, drawn up specifically to conflate anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism.
Accusations of ‘anti-Semitism’ today have about as much credibility as Netanyahu’s
accusation that the
International Criminal Court issued a warrant for his arrest for war crimes out
of ‘pure anti-Semitism’.
The fact that 11 members of the GP Council bought into these false
accusations without questioning them, even though they were made against
someone Jewish, demonstrates that support for Zionism runs deep in the Green Party.
Until the GP deals with their pro-Zionist bias their claim to support the
Palestinians will be seen as opportunistic. Whereas Labour Party members could
be forgiven for being taken in by the false accusations of anti-Semitism a
decade ago there is no excuse today with the Gaza genocide.
To accuse Jewish anti-Zionists of anti-Semitism is like accusing German anti-Nazis
in the 30s of anti-German racism or anti-Apartheid activists in the 70s of being
anti-White, as Musk and Trump still do. The GP Establishment seem determined to
repeat every mistake of the Corbyn era.
It is time for Polanski to get a grip on the GP and ensure that the
Green Zionists and their allies are not allowed to do to him what the Jewish Labour Movement did to Corbyn.
The GP is primarily an electoralist not a campaigning party. It took
advantage of the fact that migrant communities, originating from former colonies,
in particular Muslims, opposed Labour’ support for the Gaza Genocide, to win
the by-election in Gorton & Denton. At the same time the GP Establishment has
gone out of its way to appease Zionists.
The Jewish Greens called a meeting Sunday tonight of their members, of which I
am one. But I and Israeli anti-Zionist Haim Bresheeth were barred from the
meeting. The Jewish Greens are Zionist Greens and are anything but a liberation
group.
This follows on from the sabotage of the Zionism = Racism motion
at its Spring Conference by the GP establishment. They were desperate to prevent
a debate on a motion condemning Zionism, the ideology of Israeli Apartheid.
As the GP has risen in the polls
so the ‘anti-Semitism’ smear campaign has resurfaced. There have been numerous articles targeting mainly
Muslim Council candidates. Instead of pushing back against these smears, the GP
leadership has tried to appease its critics in the press.
Polanski faces a choice, he can emulate
Corbyn and appease the media racists and Islamophobes and attack his own
members or he can fight back. He can’t do both.
One easy thing to do is to say there will be no trawl of social media. What
counts is behaviour not what is posted on X. Racism is state violence and
discrimination not what people write in a tweet. A tweet is here today and gone
tomorrow. A racist attack does not go away so easily. Contacting a Council
candidate’s employer as happened to Muslim Green candidate Aziz Hakimi demonstrates
the depths of our opponents venomous racism and McCarthyism.
If people sometimes misspeak and make comments that are deemed
anti-Semitic that might be because the self-proclaimed leaders of the Jewish
community, the Board of Deputies, go out of their way to
support genocide. Is it any wonder that
some people believe them and blame Jews?
Instead of focusing on ‘anti-Semitism’ we should focus on the racism
that counts, state racism which is anti-Black, anti-Muslim and anti-refugee. The
Jewish community in this country is overwhelmingly White and is arguably the
most racist section of the White population in Britain precisely because the
majority of Jews are still Zionists.
Anti-Arab and anti-Muslim racism is extremely high amongst Jewish Zionists,
many of whom, like Sussex Friends of Israel, are in bed with
Tommy Robinson’s racists.
We should be clear. Zionism is not Jewish but Christian in origin. When Zionism
was adopted by British imperialism, in the form of the Balfour Declaration, the
only member of the war cabinet to vote against it was its only Jewish member,
Sir Edwin Montagu. The idea of a Jewish ‘return to Palestine’ was a Protestant idea
based on the idea that Jews did not belong where they lived. It was
anti-Semitic.
Zionism was seen by Jews as a
form of Jewish anti-Semitism because it accepted the canard that Jews were
strangers in their own countries of birth. As Isaac Deutscher wrote:
The most fanatical enemies of Zionism were precisely the workers…. To them anti-Semitism seemed to triumph in Zionism, which recognised the legitimacy and the validity of the old cry ‘Jews get out!' The Zionists were agreeing to get out.
Zionism is the ideology that drives Israeli Apartheid and Genocide.
Anyone who hasn’t condemned the genocidal statements of Israeli Ministers from Prime Minister Netanyahu to Smotrich and
their open boasts of exterminating Palestinians has no right
to talk about anti-Semitism.
Those in the GP who define their Jewish identity by reference to Zionism
must accept that the vast majority of Israelis are
supporters of genocide and even the expulsion of Israeli Arab citizens.
82% of Israeli Jews support the expulsion
of Palestinians from Gaza, 56% support the forced expulsion of
Arab citizens of Israel and 47% believe that the IDF
when conquering an enemy city, should act in a manner similar to the way the Israelites acted when they conquered Jericho under the leadership of Joshua, namely, to kill all its inhabitants?
In fact the latter figure rises to over 60% when
taking into account those who also believe that Amalek is relevant.
In a 2007 poll of 500 Israeli Jews, 75%
disapproved of Arabs and Jews sharing apartments. Over half considered marriage
between Jews and Arabs ‘national treason’. About 40% agreed that “Arabs should have their right to vote for
Knesset revoked.’ Over half agreed that Israel should encourage its Arab
citizens to emigrate and 55% said “Arabs
and Jews should be separated at entertainment sites”.
When asked what they felt when they overheard
someone speaking Arabic, 31% said hatred, while 50% said they felt fear. Over
56% said they believed that Israel’s Arab citizens posed both a security and a
demographic threat to the country. When asked what they thought of Arab
culture, over 37 percent replied, “The Arab
culture is inferior.”
Or as the ‘moderate’ Opposition
Leader Yair Lapid, put it:
My principle says maximum Jews on maximum land with maximum security and with minimum Palestinians.
Israel is not only the most racist society on Earth, its Jewish citizens are far more racist than the Germans in 1933.
Hitler got a maximum vote of 37% in July 1932 dropping to 33% in November. Between 1930 and 1933, Hitler downplayed anti-Semitism in order to get elected because anti-Semitism was not respectable. In Israel the far-right commands over 60% of the vote.
Israel not only has neo-Nazi Ministers in government it has a population with a Nazi-like mentality. This is the background to the debate on Zionism. When some Jewish Greens say that Israel and Zionism is part of their Jewish identity my response is simple. ‘Get rid of that fucking identity and swap it for a positive Jewish identity’.
This is another fake story - there have been all too many Zionist False Flag Attacks whereby Zionists attacked themselves and shouted 'antisemitism' - nothing anti-Semitic about this - in the 1950s they bombed synagogues in Iraq and today in Teheran
The Politics of the Green Party
The problem with the GP
is that it is a petit-bourgeois party with no class politics. It is not
naturally left-wing still less socialist. It sees no connection between
capitalism and the destruction of the environment. That is why Green Parties in
Germany and Ireland have moved to the right and far-right.
The Sunday Times - which is never concerned about racism against Black or Muslim people - is apparently concerned about racism against Jews - NOT

The GP has nothing to

people who want to green capitalism not change it.
Synagogue
in Tehran ‘completely destroyed’ in US-Israeli attack
The new members who
Corbyn recruited to the GP will be among the more radical members but the
politics of the GP are unlikely to change significantly based on my own
experience in Brighton.
Brighton was where the
GP first elected an MP and it is a large party, over 5,000 members but it is
tightly controlled. It is possible that the GP in Brighton is more
conservative.
Joe Skeaping
In my first two weeks
in the GP I was removed from the Green Discussion group by the moderator Joe
Skeaping, who describes himself as a teacher of history and ‘critical thinking’
though there is little evidence of the latter.
I also managed to rack
up two official complaints! Cllr Sue Shanks took exception to remarks I made about
the i360 disaster and the Green Administration which proposed it. The i360 was an elevated lift to the sky on the
seafront that meant the Council taking out a loan of £40m which ballooned to over £50m by the time the company went into
Administration.
To cut a long story
short the Council owes the Public Works Loan Board over £32m which will be paid
back at £2.2m a year until 2041. The
current Labour Council is proposing to close Wellington House Day Centre for
Adults with Learning Disabilities saving £400,000 in order to try and find the
money to pay for this White Elephant. See here.
The Green
Administration under Jason Kitcat approved the i360 on 6 March 2014 with the
Tories voting with them and Labour opposing.
It wasn’t hard to see
that the project would fail. I said that in Argus Comment in July 2015 but by then the
damage had been done. It seemed obvious that projected visitor numbers were too
optimistic, based as they were on the Eiffel Tower. I was not alone.
There was even a petition on Change.org calling for the PWLB to refuse to
lend the £36.2m.
But when I said this in
the discussion group Shank’s reaction was ‘can
we stop greenstein slagging us off?! who moderates this??’
Not satisfied with this
inane comment Shanks then proceeded to enlighten people that ‘tony greenstein never agrees with anything.
i will publicly defend that administration if needed!’ Which was indeed a
threat!
Skeaping had no problem
with these remarks which were clearly personal and offensive. Shanks continued
saying that ‘i am officially vomplaing
about tony greensteins comments on
here. will send to you seperately’
One of those who welcomed my suspension from the GP was the notorious racist, warmonger and Blair/Starmer supporter, former Times ‘journalist’ Oliver Kamm. Kamm wrote about the Islamic Human Rights Commission’s Islamophobe of the Year Award that ‘if any reader wishes to nominate me and I am successful, you can be sure I'll turn up to collect the award and express my reasons for pride in it.’
Kamm had good reason to believe he was in with a good chance of winning the award. However he lost out again in his search for a journalistic award!
Kamm was a founding signatory of the Henry Jackson Society which numbers amongst its associate directors Douglas Murray, who is an advocate of the neo-Nazi Great Replacement and Cultural Marxism Theories in The Strange Death of Europe.
Shanks has a way with
words. I assume that ‘vomplaing’ is Green for ‘complaining’. Either way
Skeaping was more than willing to entertain this bogus complaint. Skeaping said
that he didn’t want to ‘relitigate’ i.e. learn from past mistakes.
In reality I was removed
because ‘old guard’ Greens were
horrified at my presence, as demonstrated by Skeaping’s deference to Shanks.
In 2018 12 Green
Councillors, including Shanks, voted alongside Labour and the Tories to support
the IHRA definition of
anti-Semitism whose sole purpose was to brand anti-Zionism as anti-Semitism. It
had no other purpose.
The Green councillors who voted for the IHRA issued
a statement that adopted a codicil
which stated that
It is not anti-Semitic to hold the Israeli Government to the same standards as other liberal democracies.
Since when has Israel
been a liberal democracy? It is an
ethno-nationalist state. It implements the British Emergency Regulations that were
called ‘Nazi like’ by the Zionists
when applied to them.
#MediaResponsibility
— Ambassador Jonathan Peled (@JonathanPeled) April 11, 2026
This image of an armed Zionist settler in army uniform intimidating and threatening a frightened Palestinian woman harvesting olives has gone viral in Italy - the Israeli Ambassador protested
The Genocide in Gaza, the settlement terror in the West Bank and now the Death Penalty for Palestinians has educated people about Israel’s ‘liberalism’. But it was obvious then too.
What they didn’t
mention was that they ignored the views of every Black group in Brighton &
Hove in favour of the opinions of White Jewish councillors. They didn’t even
think of consulting Palestinians and the leader Phelim McCafferty refused even
to meet Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
Anti-Semitism today is
not a form of racism. It is a marginal prejudice. It is the only form of ‘racism’
that the Met Police is concerned about. When the State opposes racism you can
be sure there’s a catch. ‘Anti-Semitism’ is the false anti-racism of the Right.
To compare Israel to
Nazi Germany is automatically anti-Semitic under the IHRA. This means I should
be expelled for having written a book explaining the links and collaboration
between Zionism and the Nazis!
Brighton and Hove Greens Discussion Group
My first clash with the
GP was in the Discussion Group. I was quickly removed from it, ostensibly on
the grounds that I accused one of the Zionists on it, Harry Cohen, of not
wanting to discuss Palestine and covering for Israel’s racism. Apparently
calling into question the motivation of those who seek to divert or prevent discussions
is not allowed.
You had the situation
where anybody who tried to raise anything to do with Palestine or which
contradicted the Zionists on the Group was met with the accusation that this is
irrelevant, not Green or was affecting their mental health.
I have included some of
these discussions so that people can see the ‘logic’ and racist paradigm that
operates. Is it local, is it relevant to elections, does it disturb anyone. There
are a few people who complain about censorship but if you call out the
motivation of those seeking to censor others then Skeaping will step in.
In private discussions Joe
did not dispute that he had discussed my removal with others in the local
establishment. His deference to Shanks and others, who I tangled with over a
decade ago, led to my removal.
In 2012 I was
representing a worker at the Deans Youth Project. See here and here. The case involved the dismissal of the office
manager for Whistleblowing. There had been a conspiracy to dismiss her by Tory councillor
Dee Simpson and New Labour hackette Linda Newman.
Three conservative
councillors, former Council leader, the
late Mary Mears who died a sad
death, David Smith and Geoff Wells testified for the worker.
We won the case but
agreed to accept reduced damages because of the charity’s overall
finances. I tried to discuss it with
Shanks who had responsibility for the voluntary sector but she was completely
unhelpful.
All previous Green
administrations have caused disputes with the Refuse Workers who are the
strongest and most militant section of Council workers. Green councillors see themselves as managers
and their radicalism dies away very quickly.
To Jacqueline the reason for censorship can be summed up in 'overwhelm' - I just hope the children of Gaza appreciate this!
The first Green leader,
Jason Kitcat, opened the Israeli shop Ecostream that PSC spent two years
picketing before it closed. The Green councillors gave us no support. The only
thing that can be said for the local GP councillors were that they weren’t
quite as bad as those in the Labour Party!
My suspension is a
sombre indication of where the GP nationally is heading. Unless it stands up to
the ‘anti-Semitism’ accusations it will be forced in a Zionist direction.
Imagine if, before the
last war, German anti-fascists had been suspended from a party because they
offended Germans who happened to be Nazis. That actually happened at Columbia
University when Robert Burke was expelled in 1936 for leading protests against
the University’s links with the Nazis. That is what Green Council has done. My
‘crime’ is to have offended racist members of the GP who happen to be Jewish.
this comment on Brighton's Green Discussion Group is the majority view - Israeli Apartheid is reduced to 'international relations' and should be kept out of mainstream discussions
Among the other
accusation against me is ‘terrorism’. This shows how out of touch Green Council
is. The case against me is about free speech. It has nothing to do with
terrorism. In the words of John Dugard, a Judge at the ICJ, ‘The label of ‘terrorist’ is a bid to
discredit and silence opponents.’
The Group's resident Zionist, Harry Cohen, finds discussion on Palestine 'complicated, complex and now 'heated' - but should be relegated to a Philosophy meeting
The Terrorism Act 2000 has
long been used against Muslims and now it is being used against Palestine
solidarity activists.
The innocence of many
refugees from Corbyn’s Your Party is
going to be shattered on the rock of the GP’s desire to be accepted by the
British Establishment.
Posts from Brighton's Green Discussion Group
The posts are interesting, not for their insights
so much as the psychology of the average Green member. The majority of members
prefer not to discuss what they call 'international issues’. It is only a
minority who are even aware of the causes of the Palestinian refugee question
or Israeli Apartheid.
Rubbish collection trumps Genocide and War, even
though the ravages of imperialism seep through in terms of expanded 'defence'
budgets, austerity, cuts in the NHS and local authority expenditure.
Indeed if one could sum up the average contributor
to the discussion lists it would be that they are almost apolitical and
disinterested in what makes society tick.
Judging by the reasons for my suspension, it is
clear that members are not interested in racism or the way that 'terrorism'
laws operate against ethnic minorities.
A frequent complaint is that talk about the Gaza
Genocide is making people feel mentally ill or unwell. There seems to be little
or no recognition of the human devastation that Israel and the United States
are causing in the Middle East.
There is some recognition of the dangers of Reform
but little recognition that the number of refugees coming to this country is a
reflection of the war that we have brought to their countries.
There is the resident Zionist Harry Cohen who has
support from the apolitical members. His contributions are largely nonsense. I’ve
never heard of a 1 State Zionist before. His role, as a member of the Jewish Greens,
is to divert conversations and claim that support for the oppressed is too ‘binary’
and ‘divisive’. Maybe opposition to
Apartheid in South Africa 40 years ago was also divisive.
Zionists employ a number of rhetorical tricks
depending on their audience, but always appealing to their most reactionary
instincts.
The argument that they are most fond of is that
there is no one Zionism. It has many strands. It’s part of Jewish identity etc.
All these arguments were employed by people like
Viscount Harmsworth, owner of the Daily
Mail in respect of national socialism. After all the Nazi party had a ‘left’
too in the shape of the Strasser brothers.
Apartheid South Africa also had a number of White parties. All of which were, like Israel’s Zionist parties, on the right or far right.
The Anti-Zionist Zionist
We now have the phenomenon of the anti-Zionist Zionist
in the form of Joshua Alston, who writes on the Bright
Green website about Why
anti-Zionists should oppose the ‘zionism is racism’ motion at Green Party
conference.
Alston’s arguments
are deliberately confusing and contradictory. I posted a comment but it never
appeared. So it is clear that Alston doesn’t want to debate his confusion.
Indeed no comments have appeared, which
suggests that not many people read the blog or perhaps no one who disagrees
with the authorised line is ever published. Alston says he has
worked for almost a decade within the Green Party to protect my community from antisemitism, and to protect righteous support for the Palestinian people.
Given that the
level of anti-Semitism is negligible in Brighton there can’t have been much
work. Alston’s protection of ‘righteous’ support for the Palestinians is
interesting since he has never been involved in Palestine solidarity support.
Alston says that ‘‘Zionism’
is a term that describes the belief in settlement, rather than the violence and
dispossession that has resulted from settlement.’ Perhaps this is true of all
colonisation? As I pointed out in my unpublished post
he should read Jabotinsky's Iron
Wall essay where he writes:
My readers have a general idea of the history of colonisation in other countries. I suggest that they consider all the precedents with which they are acquainted, and see whether there is one solitary instance of any colonisation being carried on with the consent of the native population. There is no such precedent.
Settlement without violence could not have occurred
so to separate out the two is entirely artificial. It is like saying you can
divorce violence from armed robbery!
I guess what is interesting is that Zionism is
becoming such a dirty word that some Zionists are now pretending they are anti-Zionists.
The same phenomenon occurred in the dying days of Apartheid.
Not that Alston’s sleight of hand did him much good as he was kicked off the Greens for Palestine group!
