The Tory Press & the Israeli State Attack the Green Party’s Anti-Zionist Motion and the Jewish Greens & AWL Support Them

The Question is Whether Polanski Will Buckle Like Corbyn or Is He Made of a Different Mettle?

The Daily Mail, which Supported Hitler in the 30s, Starmer & Reform Are Using Nazi like Imagery to Defend Zionism

With the amazing win in Gorton & Denton against Reform and Reform Lite (Labour) the Establishment has woken up to a shock. Starmer, the friend of every wealthy spiv, racist and ruling class paedophile, has branded the Greens ‘extreme’ and ‘a threat to Britain’. Presumably providing weapons for a Genocide in Gaza is what ‘moderates’ do for a living.

The Green Party has historically been pro-capitalist but it may be changing, not least because Corbyn in his idiocy and dotage has acted as the Green Party’s best recruitment sergeant. The question is whether the Green Party is serious about changing the billionaire’s paradise that Britain under Starmer’s corrupt neo-liberal friends is today.

The test of both the Green Party and Zack Polanski will come with the motion condemning Zionism as a Racist Ideology and Movement at its Spring Conference. It has set the cat amongst the racist pigeons of our Establishment. Support for Zionism is at the heart of British foreign policy.

This will be a test of whether or not Polanski, who has given Corbyn a Master Class in leadership, is willing to break with British foreign policy. Failure over this will confirm fears that the Green Party is willing to follow the German and Irish Greens and trade principles for power.

Leading the attack is the Daily Mail which gave open support in the 30s to the British Union of Fascists and Hitler. The Mail also campaigned against the admission of ‘bogus’ Jewish refugees from Hitler writing about

The way stateless Jews from Germany are pouring in from every port of this country is becoming an outrage:  the number of aliens entering the country through back door - a problem to which the Daily Mail has repeatedly pointed. (August 20, 1938)

Referring to Jewish refugees the Mail demonstrated its anti-Semitic pedigree:

They fought and jostled for the foremost places at the gangways... When the Relief Committee passed by they hid their gold and fawned and whined, and, in broken English, asked for money for their train fare.” 3.2.1900, We've been here before’)

Viscount Rothermere, the owner of the Mail (and Mirror) was an ardent supporter of Hitler. On 4 September 1933 he wrote an article, Nazi Youth in Control defending Hitler:

‘Of all the historic changes in our time, the transformation of Germany under Hitler has been the swiftest, most complete,’

Rothermere played down the reports of Nazi brutality in the same way as the Mail plays down the Genocide in Gaza:

‘They have started a clamorous campaign of denunciation against what they call 'Nazi atrocities,' which, as anyone who visits Germany quickly discovers for himself, consists merely of a few isolated acts of violence.’

Rothermere defended the purge of Jewish civil servants, which included teachers and lecturers:

'THE German nation, moreover, was rapidly falling under the control of its alien elements. In the last days of the pre-Hitler regime there were 20 times as many Jewish Government officials in Germany as had existed before the war. Israelites of international attachments were insinuating themselves into key positions in the German administrative machine... It is from such abuses that Hitler has freed Germany.'

Jews were ‘alien’ elements and ‘Israelites’ not Germans. This sits well with the Mail’s Zionism. In Germany the only section of the Jewish population which agreed with the Nazis that Jews should not be in government were the Zionists.

Kurt Blumenfeld, Secretary of the Zionist Federation, in a letter to Walter Rathenau, the German foreign minister, who was assassinated in 1922, stated that: ‘Under no circumstance does a Jew have the right to represent the affairs of another people.’ The Zionists accepted that Jews were aliens.

The attack against Polanski has been openly anti-Semitic which demonstrates the fake nature of our establishment’s concern with anti-Semitism. Underneath there lies genuine anti-Semitism. Polanski has been portrayed with a big nose, demon eyes and compared to Svengali, the Jewish  hypnotist who ensnared young Gentile girls.

This emphasis on Jewish men as sexual predators was a feature of Nazi propaganda. Racists have always focused on the sexual threat represented by males of the target group. The same was true of Black men in South Africa (the ‘Black peril’) and the Deep South which was the basis of lynching. Israel too portrays Palestinian men as a sexual threat, hence the fake rape narrative of October 7. It is what lies behind the propaganda around grooming gangs.

First out of the gate was Brighton & Hove Reform Party which posted a clearly anti-Semitic AI graphic on Facebook. Next to post an anti-Semitic graphic was The Daily Mail whose ‘defence’ was that it supports Zionism and Israel.

What was the Zionist reaction to this genuine anti-Semitism?  Zilch. No press releases, no statements in Parliament. Nothing on the Board of Deputies website. After all the Mail is a strong supporter of Zionism.

No doubt feeling left out, Starmer’s Labour Party got in the act with a graphic portraying Polanski as a Svengali-style hypnotist. As the Canary pointed out

Svengali was an evil Jewish hypnotist... Svengali is a Jewish man who seduces, dominates and exploits Trilby, a young orphan girl working in Paris, and makes her into a famous singer.’

This is what Starmer, a ‘Zionist without qualification’, meant by ‘rooting out anti-Semitism’. If any of these graphics had appeared under Corbyn then the air would have been thick with cries of ‘anti-Semitism’.

You may remember the Mear One Mural Affair in 2018. It wasn’t obviously anti-Semitic yet what a fuss the Zionist harlot Luciana Berger made. Berger and her fellow Zionists have kept silent though about the Mail’s Der Sturmer graphic.

Now that Starmer’s Labour is safe for Zionism anti-Semitism has been forgotten. But the reflex anti-Semitism of the Mail, Reform and Labour speaks volumes about their hypocrisy.

Zionism was adopted by British imperialism long before British Jews supported it. This is why those like David Miller who see Jews as having ‘captured’ the British state get it back to front. Jews are a moral alibi, a political shield, for the British state not the reason for its support for Zionism.

Motion A105 to the Green Party describes Zionism as

a Racist and Settler-Colonial Practice and Ideology.  Zionism functions as a political ideology that justifies settler-colonial practice through the subjugation of the Palestinian people.

This is absolutely correct.

In what must be the ultimate example of chutzpah Dominic Penna of The Telegraph told us that ‘Israel has condemned the Green Party as “hateful and racist” ahead of its vote”. When the Israeli state condemns racism I am lost for words. It’s as if Hitler had condemned anti-Semitism. Irony has died.

It is a mystery why some people still don’t understand why Israel is a racist state. So below are just some of the reasons.

20 Reasons Why Zionism and Israel, are Racist

1.           The racist law upon which Israeli Apartheid rests is the 1950 Law of Return. This enables any Jew in the world to emigrate to Israel and claim citizenship. Palestinians, even if they are born in what is now Israel have no such right even though their families have lived there for generations.

2.           Section 1(c) of the 2018 Jewish Nation State Law states:

The realization of the right to national self-determination in the State of Israel is exclusive to the Jewish People.

3.           93% of Israeli land is owned by the Israeli Lands Authority and the Jewish National Fund. The JNF only leases or rents lands to Jews. Israeli state land is Jewish state land and Israeli Palestinians are not Jewish. Therefore they have no right to access it.

4.           The 1950 Absentee Property Act was the main legal instrument used by Israel to take possession of the land belonging to the Palestinian refugees. In 1967 it was extended to East Jerusalem meaning that Jews who had abandoned property in 1948 were now entitled to reclaim it but Palestinians who had abandoned property in West Jerusalem had no such rights.

5.           Only Jews have to serve in the Israeli army. This enables Jews to claim rights that Israeli Palestinians are not entitled to such as grants for higher education and jobs in many industries. Service in the army unlocks significant social, professional, and economic benefits such as tax breaks, increased child allowances and easier loans.

6.           Education in Israel is segregated apart from a handful of private schools. The Arab education sector has consistently received a fraction of that allocated to the Jewish sector per capita.

7.           Israeli Palestinians are not able to marry a Palestinian living in the West Bank or Gaza unless they leave Israel and live there. Why?  Because Israel doesn’t want more Palestinians.  Racist?

8.           Two sets of laws for 2 sets of people. In the West Bank there Israeli civil law for Jewish settlers and military law for Palestinians. Two sets of laws for two people living in the same territory is the quintessential definition of Apartheid.

9.           Half the Arab villages in Israel are ‘unrecognised’. That means that they receive no services – running water, electricity, waste disposal etc. They are also deemed to be squatters on state land – Jewish state land. No Jewish village is ever unrecognised but there are regular demolitions of Arab villages in the Naqab, semi-desert area in the south of Israel. In 2017 in Umm al Hiram a teacher was murdered by Police and it was then covered up.

10.      In Israel until the passage of the Jewish Nation State Law Arabic was formally of equal status to Hebrew. That is no longer the case. Arabic is now unrecognised.

11.      Judges and judiciary – massive under representation of Arab judges. Although they are 20% of the population there has never been more than 1 out of the 15 Supreme Court judges.

12.      Attacks on Arab MKs – Israel boasts that Arabs can vote. But in an ethno-nationalist state they have no power. Arab MKs (& Jewish members of Hadash) are suspended, dragged from the podium, abused and can now be expelled from the Knesset if 90 out of the 120 members agree. Israel is a fake democracy, even by Western standards.

13.      Social Media discrimination – Israeli Jews can and do post ‘death to the Arabs’ and other abuse with impunity on Facebook but if a Palestinian Israeli posts anything talking of resistance s/he is immediately arrested and gaoled. In 2018 a poet, Dareen Tatour was sentenced to 5 months in gaol for talking of resistance to oppression in a poem.

14.      IDF support for pogromists We are seeing the same pogroms in the West Bank that Jews faced in Czarist Russia and the same phenomenon of Police and Soldiers defending the pogromists not the victims. Even former hardline Defence Minister and Chief of Staff, Moshe Yalon, has spoken out against a Jewish Supremacy that resembles Nazi racial supremacy.

15.      Administrative Detention – Israel has imprisonment without trial for 6 months at a time, renewable indefinitely. Occasionally the odd Jewish terrorist was also locked up. No longer. Now only Palestinians can be gaoled without trial. Currently over 3,000 Palestinians are detained without trial. But even if they are tried in Military Courts the conviction rate is 99.74%. Even the Nazi People’s Courts acquitted on average 7.3%.

16.      The Israeli Knesset is in the process of approving the death penalty for Palestinians only. Perhaps the Zionist Greens could tell us their opinion of a state that imposed the death penalty on Jews and what that would say about its underlying ideology?

17.      Nearly all detained Palestinians are tortured, starved and beaten. Torture is official state policy. Hence why the Red Cross is banned from Israel’s main torture centres such as Sde Teiman.

18.      Israel’s 2011 Admissions Committee Law allows Jewish villages in Israel to reject Israeli Palestinians. Housing segregation is integral to Israeli Apartheid. In a press release, Adalah said:

This law is one of the most racist pieces of legislation enacted in recent years, the primary objective of which is to marginalize Arab citizens and prevent them from accessing housing on ‘state land’ in many communities.

19.      In 2015 the Dawabshe family house in Duma was fire bombed by Jewish terrorists. Ahmed Dawbshe’s baby brother, mother and father died. Ahmed received no compensation because he is not Jewish. This is the society that the Jewish Greens defend.

20.      Under the Nazi Nuremberg Laws Jews could not marry non-Jews. Under Israeli law Jews and non-Jews cannot marry. Israel has no civil marriage because such marriages are considered ‘national treason’. Just as in Nazi Germany miscegenation is considered a crime against race. Hannah Arendt pointed this out when covering the Eichmann trial when the Prosecution were attacking Nazi Germany for the banning of inter-racial marriage.

Discrimination is inherent in a Jewish state as is the search for racial purity. The question Who is a Jew? has bedevilled Israeli society just as it did Nazi Germany.

It is no surprise that the right-wing Alliance for Workers Liberty, which supported the US in Iraq in 2003 and the witchhunt of socialists for ‘anti-Semitism’ under Corbyn, until it too was expelled, is now joining hands with Israel’s supporters in the Green Party and alleging ‘anti-Semitism.  See Greens should steer away from antisemitism.

The Jewish Greens Are Really Zionist Greens

Netanyahu and Israel are attacking the ‘hateful and racist’ Greens because they dare to debate the movement that has led to Genocide in Gaza. Whether consciously or otherwise the Jewish Greens [JG] are doing Netanyahu’s work.

The JG have posted an article explaining why they are urging members to vote against Motion A105: Zionism is Racism.

Given that the Israeli Embassy and Israel interferes in the internal affairs of all political parties in Britain it would be surprising if they weren’t doing the same in the Greens Party.

The JG are behaving in the same way as the Friends of Israel groups in all the other major parties. There is not one word about the genocide in Gaza on their web site even though Israel is carrying out its ethnic cleansing and mass murder in the name of Jewish people world wide.

The JG have leapt to the defence of the Israeli state and Zionism. Their arguments are familiar. They assert that:

1.         ‘Zionism can mean many different things’ & ‘Zionism is an exceptionally vague ideology’

This is nonsense. Zionism is the ideology of the Israeli State. It explains why Israel pursues racial purity, ethnic cleansing and genocide. Zionism is what Israel does to the Palestinians not what a few deluded western Jews have in their heads.

The JG mention Cultural Zionism as an example of Zionism’s different strands. Its leading figure was Ahad Ha'am. It had barely 20 supporters. It was a fragment of a fragment.

The slogan most associated with early Zionists was “a land without a people for a people without a land”. It originated with Christian Zionists like Lord Shaftesbury who opposed Jewish Emancipation in Britain in 1858, whilst supporting Jewish colonisation of Palestine. It was a slogan invented by anti-Semites and taken up by Zionists.

All settler-colonials justified occupying the land of indigenous populations by claiming they were ‘empty’. For them the native peoples simply didn’t exist and as in Australia and America they achieved this through extermination.

The Zionist movement aimed to form a Jewish State in a land which was already occupied. The Jewish religion would be used to legitimise this colonial project. It was said that most of the early Zionists, who were atheists, based their claim to Palestine on a God whose existence they denied.

Zionism, from the very start, sought the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians. In the words of the ‘moderate’ Leader of the Opposition, Yair Lapid, Zionism means maximum Jews on maximum land with maximum security and with minimum Palestinians.” How can this not be racist? This is not vague.

The JG say ‘We urge Green Party members to listen to their Jewish comrades within the party.’ This is a good example of Zionist anti-Semitism. They ignore anti-Zionist Jews and pretend that all Jews are Zionists.

The most recent poll of the Institute of Jewish Policy Research shows that less than 2/3 of British Jews identify as Zionist whilst among young people this climbs to 44% with 24% identifying as anti-Zionist.

In the United States a poll shows that only one-third of Jews identify as Zionist.

Zionism is what Zionism does not what some fragrant Zionist imagines it could be. It is Palestinians facing settler militias and starving Palestinian kids who understand what Zionism is, not some Zionist Green who would be the first to cry ‘anti-Semitism’ if this happened to Jews.

The JG say that for many Jews Zionism is a ‘a sense that Jews should have a place that they call home, where they are no longer a persecuted minority.’ But Jews do have a home. It is where they live. My home is in Britain. If they are saying that Britain isn’t my home then that is anti-Semitism. Palestine is the home of the Palestinians not Jews. Those Israeli Jews who are living there have a choice – they can live in equality with the Palestinians or leave.

The JG say that ‘regardless of how Zionism has played out in the real world’ the Green Party should not oppose Zionism. That is outrageous. If Zionism in the real world means ethnic cleansing, racial supremacism and genocide then Zionist Greens should re-examine what Zionism really stands for.

In 1791 the French Revolution granted equality to the Jews. In the words of Count Stanislas de Clermont-Tonnerre, a member of the Constituent Assembly, on 23 December 1789:

We must refuse everything to the Jews as a nation and accord everything to Jews as individuals.

Under feudalism, Jews formed a separate caste, a people-class, which was separate from those around it. Capitalism in its revolutionary phase overthrew the idea that religion and state was the same. From now on a nation state would be based on equal civil rights regardless of religion.

Israel harks back to the days of feudalism and harnessed to settler colonialism it becomes genocidal and viciously racist.

During the Holocaust the states that most eagerly participated in the Holocaust were the Christian nationalist states of Romania, Croatia and Slovakia.

Slovakia was led by the Catholic priest Father Tiso. Slovakia asked Nazi Germany to take its Jews off its hands. The first deportation of Jews to the extermination camps took place in March 1942 from Slovakia to Auschwitz and Sobibor.

Romania had the second largest number of Jews in Europe bar Poland, over 600,000. At least 300,000 were murdered, not by the Nazis but the Romanians. Before WWII, Fascist movements, such as the Iron Guard (Legion of Archangel Michael), defined Romania as an exclusively Christian nation, framing Jews as enemies of both the nation and Christ.

The National Legionary State (1940–1941) of the Iron Guard and Ion Antonescu passed laws aiming to eradicate the Jews through ‘Romanianization’ (seizure of property).

In January 1941 the Legionnaires staged a coup which was quickly put down but not before a pogrom against the Jews in Bucharest. Many Jews were hanged from meat hooks. Hans Frank, the Nazi Governor of Poland, saidwe practice surgery they practice butchery’.

Croatia was also a place where the Catholic clergy dominated. It was the only Nazi occupied state to have its own death camp - Jasenovac.

Any state which bases its ethnicity on religion like Israel must inevitably be racist against those of other religions.

Attack on Jewish Identity – the practical implications for Jews

Knowing their arguments are weak the JG fall back on kith and kin arguments. They say that ‘most Jewish institutions in the UK have some sort of connection to Zionism’. This is true but why should that prevent solidarity with the Palestinians?

It is up to the Green Party how they interpret the motion. They claim that it ‘gives the party the option to expel almost any Jew involved in organised communal life’. This is fear mongering. The National Secretary of Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Ben Soffa, is a religious Jew involved in his own synagogue which is affiliated to the Board of Deputies. No-one has suggested that this makes his position untenable.

Jews who identify as Zionists may believe that it is just a form of religious identity. They are wrong but as long as they are not anti-Palestinian racists then they have nothing to fear.

But we should be honest. Many Zionist Jews in Britain do hold Islamophobic views and believe that Palestinians are lesser beings. See the case of Gary Mond the Senior Vice-President of the Board of Deputies who declared that we were at war with Islam.

Jewish racism in Britain cannot be ignored. Zionism causes Islamophobia which is why Tommy Robinson and other neo-Nazis define themselves as ‘White Zionists’. Robinson was recently a guest of the Israeli government.

The JG say that ‘Jewish members are much more vulnerable to such accusation’ of being Zionists’. If that is true it is because Zionists continually assert that all Jews are Zionists. If they are serious the JG should be doing their best to make a clear distinction between Zionism and being Jewish.

If someone who is Jewish is accused of being a Zionist solely because they are Jewish, then this should be reason enough for them to be disciplined or expelled. The problem is that the Zionist movement attacks anti-Zionist Jews as ‘self-haters’.

It is incumbent upon Jews to dissociate themselves from Israel’s claims and to say ‘not in my name’ just as it would have been right for Germans in Britain to dissociate themselves from the Nazis in the 1930s.

As their final flourish the JG say that ‘there is a persistent strand in public discourse that conflates Jews and Zionists, with the ‘Z word’ becoming an offensive term for a Jew.’

The problem is the JG are guilty of this conflation by leaping to the defence of Zionism. The ‘Z’ word is offensive because Zionism is offensive. What the JG should be doing is asserting that to be Jewish is not to be a Zionist.

The JG’s other argument that ‘Many Jewish people also have family members living in Israel’ are risible. Are they really saying that we should not have condemned Apartheid because many British people had relatives in South Africa?

What about Germans living in Britain pre-1939? Should people have kept silent about Nazism? One would hope that British Jews with relatives in Israel would do their best to get their relatives to emigrate or reconsider their politics.
