As Israel moves to the openly racist far-Right, there is no longer any room for a hypocritical Zionist left that talked equality and practised ethnic cleansing

For 30 years the Israeli Labour Party was the party of government – next Tuesday it may be wiped out as the Judeo-Nazi Otzma Yehudit is forecast to enter the Knesset

On Tuesday Israel will hold its second General Election of 2019. The last elections in April gave Netanyahu’s Likud and his Blue-White opponents 35 seats each. They also saw the Israeli Labour Party [ILP] nosedive, going from 24 to 6 seats and the left Zionist Meretz, cling on with 4 seats.
This time the ILP is forecast to get even fewer, possibly 4 or 5 seats and Meretz, which is now the Democratic Party, 5 or 6 seats. When you think that the ILP, or Mapai as it was before 1968, gained 46 seats in the 1949 elections with Mapam to its left gaining 19, then you can see the scale of decline. In 1949 Mapai leader David Ben-Gurion chose to form a government with the religious parties not Mapam.
In 1951 Mapai and Mapam gained 60 seats. In 1955 Mapai, Mapam and Ahdut gained 59 seats. In 1959 Mapai gained 47 seats and Mapam and Ahdut Ha'avodah gained 16 seats, an absolute majority of 63 out of 120.
As late as 1969 the Israeli Labour Alignment, which included Mapam and Ahdut gained 56 seats. From 1949 to 1977 the ILP/Mapai formed every single coalition government. The last time that the ILP was in this position was in the 1992 elections under Yitzhak Rabin when the ILP gained 44 seats and Meretz, which included Mapam, Shinui and Ratz, the Citizens Rights Party, gained 12 seats. Even then the government rested on the support of the Arab parties.
The ILP hasn’t formed a government in its own right since 1999 when Ehud Barak defeated Netanyahu for the post of Prime Minister.  Within two years he had resigned and Likud’s Ariel Sharon became Prime Minister.
The ILP has seen a steady decline in the number of seats from 26 in 1999 to 19 in 2003 and 2006, 13 in 2009 and 15 in 2013. In 2015, after a merger with Tzipi Livni’s Hatnuah there was an increase to 24 seats. Labour’s new right-wing leader Avi Gabbay ditched Livni in the April 2019 elections and the ILP gained just 6 seats.
Meretz, which is all that remains of the left-Zionist Mapam, gained 5 seats in 2015 and 4 in April 2019.  Even worse from its standpoint, it only managed to cling on to representation in the Knesset (where you now have to gain 3.25%) because it gained over 40,000 Israeli Palestinian votes.  This was primarily due to the reaction of the Druze population to the Jewish Nation State Law. However for a Zionist party to rest on Arab votes is untenable, so Meretz has cooked up a deal with former Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
Barak is a war criminal having been responsible for the saturation bombing of Lebanon and for coining the phrase which Likud adopted that Israel ‘has no partner for peace.’ He also oversaw the murder of 13 Israeli Palestinians on Land Day in October 2000, which saw the start of the Second Intifada.
The alliance with Barak and Labour defector Stav Shaffir has been named the ‘Democratic Party’ and it is forecast that they will enter the Knesset.  However it represents the last desperate throw of the dice of the Zionist left. Lacking any social programme worthy of the name and having little or nothing to say about the military occupation in the Occupied Territories and the expansion of the settlements, they can only resort to rearranging the deckchairs on what is the Zionists’ Titanic.
Labour Zionism founded and built the Israeli state through organisations and institutions such as the kibbutzim and Histadrut. Collective colonialism which was essential to building the state, is now an anachronism. There is no longer any need to pay lip service to social democracy still less socialism. Israel is now an openly racist society with a Prime Minister whose Facebook page bore the message that the ‘Arabs want to annihilate us all – women, children and men’.[1]
For over half a century the ILP practiced ethnic cleansing at home, building Israel’s apartheid state whilst preaching the brotherhood of man abroad. It presided over a large state run economy with its ‘trade union’ Histadrut being Israel’s second largest employer. Today the Histadrut enterprises have all been privatised. There is no longer a Labour economy. Netanyahu’s Stabilisation Pact saw to that. Israel is the apostle of free market capitalism.
Israel no longer has a need for Labour Zionist hypocrisy. Zionism no longer needs to be Janus faced, one racist face turned inwards towards Israeli Jews and the other, social democratic face turned outwards to gullible world leaders and western public opinion.
Labour Zionism no longer has a role to play. Israel is aligned with the far-Right and Trump internationally. There is no longer a need for any pretence. Labour Zionism’s formulation of a Jewish Democratic State was always an oxymoron, a lie based on a contradiction.  If the state was democratic then how could it be based on just one section of the population?  By definition a Jewish state meant one which privileged Jews over non-Jews.
The reason that a second election is necessary is because Avigdor Lieberman, leader of Yisrael Beteinu, refused to join Netanyahu’s coalition after the April elections unless the Orthodox parties agreed that their supporters would serve in the Israeli army.  Lieberman represents mainly Russian immigrants and is on the far-Right of Israeli politics, for example supporting the transfer of Israeli Arabs, whom he considers a fifth column, calling for them to swear a loyalty oath to  Israel.
Nonetheless Lieberman represents secular racism in a state where racism is legitimised by a rabbinical caste. Much of Lieberman’s Russian base is either half-Jewish or non Jewish. Many Russian Jews are the equivalent of the Mishlinge (mixed race Jews) in Nazi Germany.
The cleavage between orthodox and secular Jews represents a fundamental division within Israel’s herren volk. It represents a division  between Zionism's secular origins and today's messianic settler movement.
However it is a battle that the Orthodox will win because the whole ideological justification for Zionism is that it represents the ‘return’ of Jews to the Promised Land. Without the rabbis’ blessing, Israel’s claims to dispossess the Palestinians lack all moral justification, other than that of brute force.
If it wasn’t for the Palestinians Israel could be consumed by civil war. Hatred of the Palestinians provides the glue for Zionist unity in Israel much as anti-Semitism provided the ideological glue for the Nazi party.
Yet despite Lieberman’s virulent racism, many in the Labour Zionist parties consider that because he is anti-Netanyahu then he is somehow of the Left. There is an almost total failure by the Zionist ‘left’ parties to recognise that the problem is not Netanyahu but Zionism, the Jewish nature of the Israeli state is the real problem.
Former Knesset member Michael Ben Ari of Otzma Yehudit surrounded by Jewish neo-Nazi thugs
It is no accident that a party such as Otzma Yehudit, which is the inheritor of Rabbi Meir Kahane’s Kach should be tipped to enter the Knesset with 4 seats, possibly as many as the ILP.  In 1984 Kahane obtained 1 seat (at that time 1% of the vote entitled a party to enter the Knesset). Today with a plethora of far-Right and further Right parties, there is a distinct possibility that a Jewish neo-Nazi party will enter the Knesset.
Otzma Yehudit includes within its leadership Benzi Gopstein, leader of the fascist Lehava group which campaigns against mixed Jewish-Arab relationships and employs groups of thugs to physically attack Arab men suspected of seeking relations with Jewish women. In April Netanyahu successfully pressurised the United Right party to include Otzma Yehudit on its ticket. Today it is actively helping Otzma Yehudit to cross the electoral threshold.
Netanyahu himself is desperately trying to avoid corruption charges, if necessary by a statutory provision that exempts the Prime Minister whilst in office from criminal charges. This is what his election calculations are based around.
Ayelet Shaked - the racist former Justice Minister - who called for the genocide of Palestinians and openly supports Jewish only communities in Israel itself
The far-Right has coalesced in the Yamina list headed by former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked.  It is tipped to gain 9 seats. It consists of 3 parties – the New Right and the Union of Right-wing parties (itself a combination of Jewish Home and Tekuma).
The ultra-Orthodox Shas and United Torah Judaism will pick up between 14 and 16 seats.
It is impossible at present to predict the outcome. Netanyahu has excelled himself with the racist nature of his campaign.  Even Facebook suspended his talking bot after a message appeared on his official Facebook page saying that all Arabs wanted to annihilate the Israelis. The message of Likud’s campaign is that the ‘leftist’ Blue and White Party will form a coalition government with ‘the Arabs’.
Blue and White is headed by former war criminal and Chief of Staff, Benny Gantz, responsibility for Operation Protective Edge in 2014 which murdered 2,200 Palestinians in Gaza including 550 children. There is no real difference in their attitude towards the Palestinians or Arabs between Netanyahu and Gantz.
Netanyahu accuses Blue and White of intending to form a ‘leftist’ government which includes the Arabs.  Gantz denies that he will have anything to do with the Joint List which is made up of the Communist Hadash, United Arab List, Ta'al and Balad parties. This is the level of political debate in Israel today.
This kind of accusation is what is driving the election campaign.  Instead of Benny Gantz, the leader of Blue and White saying ‘what does it matter if I form a government with the Arab parties’ he immediately denies any such intention.  God forbid that Arab parties were included in a governing coalition.
The Arab parties and Hadash have reunited after the divisions of April
2019 but whether they can regain their former position after the 2015 elections when they gained 13 seats is doubtful.
Whatever the result Israel is in for a period of instability as Netanyahu tries to fend off criminal charges.  Unfortunately the ‘left’ in Israel today sees Netanyahu as the main problem not the racist anti-Arab society that Zionism has created. Netanyahu feeds off the racism of Israeli settler colonialism. He is not the cause.
It also seems clear that Israel politically is going to face a continued period of political paralysis.  Neither Netanyahu nor Gantz is going to be able to form a coalition and indeed the obvious coalition is one between Likud and Blue and White or even between Likud and what remains of the Labor Party.
There is also talk of another attack on Gaza and a postponement of the election entirely, which might also suit Netanyahu as he seeks to evade his corruption charges.

Israel Solves the Problem of Human Rights Abuses – Stop People Filming Them!

Congratulations are in order to the Middle East’s only democracy for its ingenious solution to the problem of human rights - make filming them a crime!

Credit Yesh Din https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUZXCtH7NXU
Under the proposed legislatioin the person filming these soldiers could be gaoled for undermining the morale of the animals who fired at this couple

It’s not often that I congratulate the Israeli government but their latest proposal, to ban journalists from photographing soldiers who are engaged in abuses of human rights, beating people up, shooting a few demonstrators etc. has the touch of genius.  After all, if you stop people filming the abuses then they won’t exist, never happened, are just allegations without any supporting evidence.
At a stroke we get rid of the embarrassment of people being caught in flagrante.  Now I know that organisations like the BBC can be relied on to look the other way, but even they, on occasion, find it impossible to cover everything up, no matter how hard they try.  How much easier it will be when the BBC can turn round and say that unfortunately they were unable to capture any photographs because ‘the only democracy in the Middle East’ has made it a crime.
Who knows?  Perhaps if German soldiers hadn’t filmed the execution of Jews on the steppes of White Russia all those years ago then the Nazis too could have maintained what is now called plausible deniability.  But I forgot. Comparisons with the Nazis are ‘anti-Semitic’ which means I guess that it would have been wrong for the Nazis but  not wrong for the ‘democratic’ Jewish state.
Either way I really do believe that congratulations to Netanyahu and Lieberman are in order and only anti-Semites full of nothing but sour grapes will complain.

Israeli soldiers confront a Palestinian journalist
BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) — The Palestinian Journalist Syndicate (PCJ) released a statement on Saturday condemning the proposal of a new bill in the Israeli Knesset that would criminalize the photographing or recording of Israeli soldiers while on duty.
The bill was proposed on Thursday with the support of right-wing Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, and if passed, those found in violation of the law could face a prison sentence of up to five years.
The PCJ called the proposed bill “racist,” saying that it “severely attacks the profession of the press and legitimizes the criminal practices committed by the Israeli occupation army against the Palestinian people.”
The group said the law would “grant legitimacy to the Israeli occupation to commit more crimes,” and is an attempt by the Israeli government to “escape punishment and international justice.”
“The core of the law is to mislead justice and provide a formal cover for further crimes,” the group said.
In the statement, the group called on the United Nations (UN) and other international institutions “concerned with the freedom of press work to express their opinion and exert pressure on the occupying entity to comply with its laws in accordance with international laws and conventions, and to protect the freedom of press work and the role of fundamental journalists in uncovering and documenting the truth.”

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel moved on Sunday to snap the lens shut on rights groups that film its troops’ interactions with Palestinians by introducing a bill that would make it a criminal offense.
Rights groups frequently film Israeli soldiers on duty in the occupied West Bank, documentation the organizations say is necessary to expose abuse by the military.
A video filmed by Israeli rights group B’Tselem in 2016 showing an Israeli soldier shoot dead an incapacitated Palestinian assailant drew international condemnation and led to the soldier’s conviction for manslaughter in a highly divisive trial.
The proposed law, formulated by the ultranationalist Yisrael Beitenu party in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s governing coalition, would make filming or publishing footage “with intent to harm the morale of Israel’s soldiers or its inhabitants” punishable by up to five years in prison.
The term would be raised to 10 years if the intention was to damage “national security”.
A ministerial committee which oversees legislation voted to approve the bill on Sunday. It will now go to parliament for a vote that could take place this week and if ratified, will be scrutinized and amended before three more parliamentary votes needed for it to pass into law.
Yisrael Beitenu leader and Defence Minister, Avigdor Lieberman, praised the committee and said: “Israeli soldiers are under constant attack by Israel haters and supporters of terrorism who look constantly to degrade and sully them. We will put an end to this.”
Despite Avichai Mendelblit's reservations for constitutional reasons, ministerial panel okays bill but demands other changes before Knesset vote.
The proposed Israeli law that would ban the filming of soldiers carrying out their duties is problematic from a constitutional standpoint which may prevent its enactment, says Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit.
Despite the attorney general's reservations, on Sunday, the Ministerial Committee for Legislation approved the bill, but demanded significant changes in its wording and further discussion in the committee, in advance of the preliminary vote on it in the Knesset plenum.
The parliament is expected to vote in favor of the proposed law, sponsored by MK Robert Ilatov (Yisrael Beiteinu), once it is revised substantially.
A senior member of the coalition told Haaretz that an agreement had been reached with Ilatov whereby the proposed law will call for a ban on interfering with Israel Defense Forces soldiers in the line of duty, but there will not be a total prohibition on filming and documenting such activities.
The final wording of the bill has yet to be agreed upon but coalition MKs say it would call for a prison sentence of up to three years for preventing a soldier from carrying out his duties.
The version of the law approved by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation calls for a five-year prison term for anyone filming or distributing footage on social media that documents confrontations between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians, with the intent to “break the spirit of Israeli soldiers and inhabitants.”
Anyone who documents such activities and disseminates the information with an intent to harm national security could face up to 10 years in prison.
“For many years," according to explanatory information appended to the text of the bill, "Israel has witnessed a worrisome phenomenon in which IDF soldiers are being documented."
"Via video, stills and audio recordings by anti-Israeli and pro-Palestinian groups such as B’Tselem, the women of Machsom Watch, Breaking the Silence and various BDS groups. In many instances, these organizations spend entire days near IDF soldiers waiting with baited breath for some action they can document in a biased way in order to slander the IDF," according to the addendum.
"Such documentation generally interferes with ongoing and operational IDF duties, sometimes accompanied by accusations and insults being hurled in their faces.”
Defense Minister Lieberman hailed the bill in a tweet. “I congratulate the Ministerial Committee for Legislation for approving the Yisrael Beiteinu bill that bans taking pictures of of our security forces with the purpose of delegitimizing them,” he wrote.
“Israeli soldiers are under attack from groups of people who want to destroy Israel and support terror who want to discredit, humiliate and harm them. Let’s put an end to this!,” he concluded.

The Zionist – Fascist Alliance was Consummated at the Al Quds Demonstration

The Supporters of Tommy Robinson (Steve Yaxley Lennon) Joined Forces with the Board of Deputies Demonstration Against the Palestinians

For the past couple of years British Zionists have been trying to ban the annual Al Quds demonstration in London, which met yesterday at the Saudi Embassy. The pretext for trying to ban a demonstration in support of the Palestinians, which is organised by the Islamic Human Rights Commission, was that the yellow flag of Hezbollah was being flown.
It is of course no surprise that London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan has joined in on the side of Jewish supremacists and racists.  This disgusting Uncle Tom never hesitates to try and appease the supporters of Israeli Apartheid and Zionism. Not once did he speak out about the slaughter of unarmed Palestinian demonstrators earlier this month in Gaza.

The bourgeois Zionists joined forces with the boneheads in a common anti-Islamic cause

What makes it worse is that last year Darren Osborne, who was convicted of murdering an elderly worshipper at the Finsbury Park mosque, had attempted to drive his van into the marchers.  The Police presence prevented this but it would seem that the Zionist Board of Deputies wants to complete what the fascist Osborne attempted. Mark Rowley, the UK’s most senior counter-terror officer said it was clear that Osborne had been motivated to attack Muslims by reading what Tommy Robinson had written about Muslims. Finsbury Park attacker turned violent by far-right posts from Tommy Robinson and Britain First, police say
Present yesterday were many of the same fascist thugs who the previous day had held a demonstration calling for the freeing from a 13 month prison sentence of Tommy Robinson (Steve Yaxley Lennon).
Bonehead looking lost
Gormless personified
On Saturday an estimated 15,000 members of the Football Lads Alliance had gathered in London. Like the EDL which Robinson founded, these fascists are ardent supporters of Zionism and Israel. Of course they don’t love Jews anymore and it was noticeable that supporters of Robinson were giving Hitler salutes.  This is the company that the Board of Deputies and the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, which also campaigned against yesterday’s demonstration, keep.
It is a feature of the far-Right today that their hatred of Muslims has led to ardent support for Israel and Zionism.  The fascist rally was addressed by the leader of the Dutch Freedom party Geert Wilders, for whom 'Israel Is West's First Line of Defense'
A lonely fash
Hoffman whitened up seemed out of sorts
Hundreds of these fascist thugs stayed over to the Sunday in order to try and attack the Al Quds demonstration and they linked up with a group of Zionist fascists who I have previously featured here and here.
Amongst the Zionist fascists was Mark Harringman, who emailed me asking me to take his profile down because it stopped him getting a job.  Harringman tried to stick a camera in my face as a means of revenge!
Hoffman wasn't his normal ebullient self - perhaps he's having a late mid life crisis
When I went for a coffee I had to go through a group of these Zionists who seemed besides themselves, jeering and crowing.  I lost count of  how many times I was accused of being a ‘traitor’ – to whom I’m not sure.  I thought accusing Jews of dual loyalty was anti-Semitic! The appropriately named Amanda Shitrit was particularly put out as she screamed and howled.
The CAA 'charity' rejoices in the unlawful attempt to block the progress of the march - it classifies a group of fascists as 'anti-terrorism activists'
My old friend Jonathan Hoffman’s face was plastered in white.  Is White supremacy getting to him?  His alter ego Thor Halland seems to have been absent altogether. Another missing face was Joseph Cohen. As I remarked to a friend who came with me, I just love their hate.  It must really hurt them to come up against anti-racist and anti-Zionist Jews as they hang out with a bunch of boneheads and assorted thugs.
Still as the American alt-Right proves, with its founder neo-Nazi Richard Spencer declaring he is a White Zionist and other neo-Nazis like Sebastian Gorka falling over themselves to declare their love for Zionism and Israel, the political dividing lines have now been drawn.  After all what is there not to like about Israel if you are a neo-Nazi or White Supremacist?  Israel is the ideal ethno-nationalist state which deports anyone who is Black who seeks asylum there.  It is a state at the forefront of hostility to Muslims.
He reminds me of an old slogan of ours 'Thick and dumb, Nazi scum'
The Zionist pretext for banning Hezbollah is that it is a ‘terrorist’ organisation. The real reason is that Hezbollah is the only Arab organisation to have successfully resisted Israeli aggression. It was the determination of Hezbollah that forced Israel to withdraw from Lebanon in 2000 and when Israel invaded and bombed Lebanon in 2006 Hezbollah inflicted a heavy defeat on the Zionist forces.
All the nonsense about Hezbollah being a ‘genocidally, anti-Semitic’ organisation should be treated with a very large pinch of salt.  Hezbollah isn’t a leftist organisation politically but nor are its opponents.  However it is a lie to say that it is hostile to Jews as Jews. Many Jews such as Norman Finkelstein have met with its leaders. This is, once again, an attempt to transplant European anti-Semitism to the Arab world. Anti-Semitism was not a phenomenon in the Arab world and even today anti-Jewish expressions are the consequence of imperialism and the Zionist colonisation not because of an adherence to racial doctrines.
Mark Harrigman - in your face
Nor is Hezbollah a ‘terrorist’ organisation. Apart from the fact that the definition of a ‘terrorist’ organisation is that it lacks a mass base and therefore substitutes violence for political activity, Hizbollah has never planted bombs in the cities of Europe or any other country. It has fought in Syria at the invitation of the Syrian government, a mistake in my view, but it is no more a terrorist than any other group or state fighting in Syria such as the Russians or the Americans.
Hezbollah (and Hamas) are often painted by Zionist propagandists as the equivalent of Al Nusra/Al Quaeda (which Israel supports in Syria) or ISIS (which they are strongly suspected of supporting).  However both groups have come into conflict with these Jihadist groups, in particular ISIS.  It is noticeable that when an offshoot of the Yemen Al Qaeda group carried out the Charlie Hebdo murders in France and then followed up with the murder of 4 French Jews in Paris, that both Hamas and Hezbollah condemned these killings.
A slightly intellectual looking fascist -  anyone know his name?
Hezbollah’s rhetoric about wiping Israel off the face of the earth is crude but what they really mean is eliminating Zionism and the Israeli state not the people who live in Israel. Hezbollah came into existence as a result of Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982 when over 20,000 people were killed and 100,000 were injured as Israel bombed and devastated Lebanon’s cities.  This is the real terrorism. The reality is that behind the rhetoric is a pragmatic approach which has seen a 12 year ceasefire on the Lebanon border, which Israel has not for once broken because Hizbollah’s rockets undoubtedly act as a deterrent.
Mark Harrigman - not exactly one of the Zionist intellectual elite
As Metropolitan Police Commander Jane Conners wrote in a letter to that disgusting supporter of Israeli child abuse, Louise Ellman, MP for Tel Aviv South and Liverpool Riverside: “Purely holding a flag does not necessarily incite religious or racial hatred.” It’s obvious really.  Hezbollah, which is a Lebanese national liberation movement has both a political and a military wing, just as in Ireland the IRA was the military wing and Sinn Fein was the political wing.  Kurdish groups do likewise.
This one was giving out 'free  Tommy Robinson' flyers
Nonetheless, I think the organisers of the march (which because it was so delayed I couldn’t stay for) need to consider the wisdom of having the Hezbollah flag flying when the march is about Palestine.  Tactically it may be better to just have Palestinian flags flying. The question of Hizbollah flags is a pretext however what is essential is that it isn't used as an excuse to ban the demonstration as a whole.
Nonetheless the idea that the demonstration, which has been held for over 30 years, should be banned is an outrage.  Even more so when the people who are calling for a ban are the very same ones who are happy to go on demonstrations with real fascists and Muslim hating anti-Semites.
Melanie - a picture of stupidity - whenever she sees me she calls out but is reluctant to engage in conversation - a former model I believe
A real charmer
If anyone is genocidal it is the representatives of Israel, such as its rabbis who regularly compare the Palestinians to the Biblical Amalek.  For example the Chief Rabbi of Safed, Shmuel Eliyahu, said in 2007 that Israel “must kill 100,000, even a million” people in Gaza if that was necessary to stop Palestinian resistance fighters from firing rockets into Israel by way of retaliation.  Eliyahu also justified rape by Israeli soldiers in war because otherwise they would lose their motivation to fight! [Rabbi who urged Gaza genocide excused rape by soldiers] Or Israel’s fascist Defence Minister Lieberman who recently said that ‘there are 'no innocent people' in Gaza as 30 Palestinians martyred.
It seems as if it was away day for the fascist OAPs
Lieberman has previously told of how he dreams of being able to drown thousands of Palestinian prisoners and cut off the heads of Arab Israelis.  This is a man who can actually put his threats into action.  The wilder statements of Hizbollah are just empty rhetoric.
That is why the hypocrisy of ‘Labour Zionists’ such as the Jewish Labour Movement is so nauseating. Today there is no excuse for anyone pretending to be a socialist and a Zionist.  That is why the removal of the JLM and Labour Friends of Israel from the Labour Party is an absolute priority.
