I am therefore surprised that you now seem to be backtracking and repeating all Corbyn’s errors. On BBC Breakfast, when challenged about newspaper reports of anti-Semitism in the Green Party [GP] the first thing you should have done is to ask why the same racist Islamophobic press are concerned about anti-Semitism but no other form of racism.

You failed to point out the history of these ‘anti-Semitism’ attacks in the Labour Party and how it led to the support for genocide of Keir Starmer. You are in danger of taking the same path as Corbyn. There is no appeasing Zionism and the genocide supporting BBC.

Saying ‘one anti-Semite is one too many’ is the same trite slogan that Tom Watson and Corbyn mouthed. How about one Islamophobe or one racist is too many? How about using the opportunity to call out racist attacks on asylum seekers?

Was it too much to say to the BBC that it is no coincidence that the GP is being attacked as ‘anti-Semitic’ because of its stance on Palestine? That just as ‘anti-Semitism’ disappeared as soon as Corbyn, a noted Palestine supporter, was expelled, so it is your statements on Palestine that are behind these ‘anti-Semitism’ attacks.

No-one was more pleased than me when you overwhelmingly defeated the conservative Establishment Greens, Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsay last year. Under them the GP had adopted the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism which labelled opponents of Zionism as ‘anti-Semitic’.

Particularly welcome was your willingness to do what no other party leader was willing to do and that was to call Israel’s holocaust in Gaza a genocide.

Nothing has been more shameful than the refusal to name the murder of hundreds of thousands of people as genocide. The destruction of 90% of buildings, the deliberate starvation of its population, the flour massacre and killing of starving people queuing for food and the ecocide – the deliberate destruction of agriculatural land. All of this is a genocide as per the Genocide Convention.

In August 2024 Mark Smith, a Foreign Office Official resigned. His resignation statement said that that:

“Ministers claim that the UK has one of the most ‘robust and transparent’ arms export licensing regimes in the world, however this is the opposite of the truth.”

Every single international human rights organisation – Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Israel’s own B’tselem and Physicians for Human Rights, the Association of Genocide Scholars and the Lemkin Institute, named after Raphael Lemkin, who coined the term ‘genocide’, has called this out as a Genocide. Yet Starmer, Lammy and Cooper have instead closed the Foreign Office unit that collates information on Israel’s human rights abuses.

 As a fully cleared officer raising serious concerns of illegality in this Department, to be disregarded in this way is deeply troubling. It is my duty as a public servant to raise this.


 

The first response to your election victory was to subject you to a series of anti-Semitic caricatures by Israel’s supporters. The Labour Party cartoon emulated Svengali, the Reform Party and the Daily Mail did likewise.


Having failed to attack you as a Jew, the billionaire press and their Zionist friends decided that they would employ the same smear campaign that they had run so successfully against Jeremy Corbyn in the Labour Party.  

The sharks are circling and you face two choices – either you appease the supporters of genocide, apartheid and ethnic cleansing or you face them down. If you do the former you will end up either like Corbyn or neutered politically.

Appeasing Zionism is like expecting the lamb to lie down with a ravenous wolf. Supporters of Zionism are not open to reason because genocidal racism has no rationale or reason apart from the ‘logic’ of ethnic cleansing.

So when you said you were being ‘nuanced’ in differentiating between different forms of Zionism you were equivocating and retreating, trying to reconcile the irreconcilable.

Historically all varieties of Zionism agreed on a Jewish Supremacist state. They differed only on how to achieve it.

Today Labour Zionism is all but dead. The far right have an overwhelming majority in Israel’s Knesset. Even the supporters of Brit Shalom, Zionism’s peace wing ended up supporting a Jewish State. Many, like Arthur Ruppin and Chaim Kalvarisky, aimed to persuade the Arabs to peacefully accept Zionist colonisation. Brit Shalom disappeared in 1933, never having had more than 100 supporters. It was the ideas of Jabotinsky, the founder of Revisionist Zionist (now Likud) and his essay The Iron Wall which won out. 

My readers have a general idea of the history of colonisation in other countries. I suggest that they consider all the precedents with which they are acquainted, and see whether there is one solitary instance of any colonisation being carried on with the consent of the native population. There is no such precedent.

The native populations, civilised or uncivilised, have always stubbornly resisted the colonists, irrespective of whether they were civilised or savage.

And it made no difference whatever whether the colonists behaved decently or not..

None of this prevents the GP’s Zionists such as Elise Benjamin and Andrée Friez from defending Israel and accusing their opponents of ‘anti-Semitism’.

What is animating ‘anti-Semitism’ is the perceived support of Jews for Genocide in Gaza. It is the Board of Deputies, which claims that it represents all Jews, whose support for Genocide is such that it punished the few dissidents in its ranks, which fuels anti-Semitism.

Naturally such claims cause political confusion as many people then believe that Jews are to blame for the Genocide. Who can blame them? Not everyone understands the difference between Zionism and being Jewish or that those responsible are the Western governments that supply the weapons that enable the genocide.

Most if not all the social media posts that are being singled out misspeak at worst. They are not anti-Semitic. Anti-Semitism is not opposition to Israel or Zionism, however badly expressed. It is hostility or prejudice against Jews as Jews. The OED definition.

Unless there is concrete proof that a GP candidate is genuinely hostile to Jews as Jews or espouses holocaust denial then they should not be called anti-Semitic or barred from standing. You, Zack, have a duty as a Jewish person, to stand up for the mainly Black or Asian candidates who are being hounded by the feral British press and the racist anti-Palestinian Jewish Chronicle.


Three-quarters of the 22 GP candidates who have been suspended are Black or Asian. Every one of these candidates should be reinstated immediately.

I recently met Saiqa Ali, GP candidate in Lambeth who has been attacked by Labour councillors as ‘anti-Semitic’. Instead of defending her the GP suspended her. This is unacceptable. Saiqa is not anti-Semitic.


Likewise Mark Adderley, GP candidate in Croydon, has been suspended after being attacked by the corrupt racist Steve Reed MP, part of the Labour Together cabal.

Not a shred of evidence has been produced to suggest that Mark is anti-Semitic. His social media posts are about Israel not Jews. Israel is not a Jew. He should be reinstated. Your duty as Party Leader is to stand by your candidates when they are attacked not do as Corbyn did and throw them to the wolves. Saiqa and Mark are not being attacked because they are racists but because they are not racists.

Many prominent Greens like Laura Eccott are strong supporters of the Israeli state, despite its Nazi-like genocide in Gaza. It is the Zionist Greens whose membership should be suspended. If supporters of Palestine continue to be suspended then your own commitment to oppose the Genocide will be called into question. ‘Anti-Semitism’ is the go to weapon of supporters of Genocide.

The Case of Mark Adderley

The case of Mark Adderley is a prime example of a false accusation of anti-Semitism. Mark was the target of The Times and the anti-Semitic, Steve Reed MP. If words mean anything then Mark must be reinstated. His charge sheet read as if it was written by Netanyahu.

The basis of the decision to suspend Mark were 9 categories of social media posts and screenshots. They have nothing to do with anti-Semitism. The racist jerk who compiled this McCarthyist tract, should be suspended not Mark Adderley.

Charge No: 1 - ‘Propagated conspiracy theories that war criminal Netanyahu worked for Jeffery Epst ein.’

Epstein was clearly running a honey trap, enticing public figures in sexual scandal and blackmail. See for example US media barely touches Epstein links with Israeli intelligence. Epstein was close to Robert Maxwell, the father of Ghislaine Maxwell, his girlfriend.

It is a fact that Maxwell worked for Israeli Intelligence which is why he had the equivalent of an Israeli state funeral. But even if Mark is wrong, what the fuck has this got to do with anti-Semitism?

Charge No: 2 - Propagated conspiracy theories online suggesting that all members of the Labour Government were receiving bribes from Israel.

It would be interesting to know who in the Labour government hasn’t received money from a Zionist donor such as Trevor Chinn?  But what has this got to do with anti-Semitism? Once again Israel is not a Jew.

Charge No: 3 - Called Labour MP's "Fuckwads in ties".

Fuckwad I am told means a ‘contemptible, obnoxious, or foolish person’.  It seems reasonable description of most Labour MPs but again it is not anti-Semitic.

Charge No: 4 – Propagated conspiracy theories online. suggesting that NATO was "instrumental" in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This is where the ‘anti-Semitism’ campaign leads. To an attack on freedom of speech. The idiot who drew up this charge has clearly never heard of Professor John Mearsheimer of Chicago University nor Oliver Stone’s Ukraine on Fire. This is no conspiracy theory. The US funded far-right militias to the tune of £5 billion the 2014 colour revolution in Ukraine which overthrew the elected President Yanukovych.


 

Charge 5: - Made antisemitic comments comparing Israel to Nazi Germany.

There is nothing anti-Semitic about comparing Israel to Nazi Germany. Was Israel Shahak, former Professor at the Hebrew University and a child survivor of the Warsaw ghetto and Belsen concentration camp anti-Semitic when he said that ‘the Nazis made me afraid to be a Jew and the Israelis make me ashamed to be a Jew’?

Was the former Israeli General Amiram Levin who likened Israel’s military control of the West Bank to Nazi Germany also being anti-Semitic?

How about Shlomo Shmelzman, a survivor of the Warsaw Ghetto, who stated that:

Perhaps holocaust survivor Stephen Kapos is also anti-Semitic for comparing what is happening in Gaza to what happened under Nazi Germany?


There are all too many comparisons that can be drawn between Israel and Nazi Germany. From the obsession with Jewish racial purity to the pogroms in the West Bank, the genocide in Gaza to the torture camps and the 60% of Israelis  who believe the population of Gaza should be exterminated. Nazi Germany is the benchmark of human evil and Israel is in close competition.

This accusation demonstrates why the person who compiled these charges isn’t fit to be a road sweeper let alone accuse others. Israel bombed and destroyed a Teheran synagogue just three weeks ago.

In January 1951 Israeli agents bombed the Masuda Shemtov synagogue in Baghdad. It is widely known and it is covered in a number of books notably Three Worlds by Avi Shlaim, Emeritus Professor at St. Anthony’s College, Oxford University. I guess Ms Eccott or whoever is as distinguished as the foremost historian in Britain of Palestine.

Charge 7: - Propagated conspiracy theories online suggesting that Charlie Kirk may have been killed by Israel.

I don’t know if there is any truth in this but it was so widely believed that Netanyahu went on TV to deny it! Sometimes conspiracies turn out to be true and the fool who wrote these charges is incapable of distinguishing between a conspiracy and a conspiracy theory. 

Charge 8: - Propagated conspiracy theories online blaming Israel for the Bondi Beach terror attack.

It would not be the first time Israel has mounted a false flag attack abroad against Jews. Either way it isn’t anti-Semitic.

Charge 9: - Called the UK Home Secretary a "puppet of the Zionist State" and "Fucking Shameful", as well as adding  "You could seek to soften your right-wing, fascistic-sympathising, Zionist-f*cking cosying up. Here's your moment Labour and you're not taking it"

What is the problem with this?   It is a matter of opinion. If anyone should face a disciplinary hearing and be suspended it is the McCarthyite fool who drew up these charges.

My Own  Suspension from the Green Party

When I joined the Green Party the mass media was already running with the story that Labour ‘anti-Semites’ were now joining the GP. First the Jewish Chronicle then The Telegraph did hit pieces on me.

Brighton & Hove GP’s Establishment were also unhappy. Even before I joined the Green Discussion Group I’d been the subject of discussion. When I criticised the i360 disaster councillor Sue Shanks took exception to my remarks:

can we stop Greenstein slagging us off?! Who moderates this??

And then added

‘tony greenstein never agrees with anything. I will publicly defend that administration if needed!

Needless to say moderator Joe Skeaping jumped to attention.

Borrowing £40m in order to fund an elevator to the sky is a touchy subject given that the Council has to pay £2.2m a year back until 2040. See my blog.

Skeaping, who is the local party chair removed me from the Greens Discussion group for questioning the motives of a Zionist who objected to discussing Palestine and the Iran war. Skeaping did not dissent from my suggestion that this had been discussed with others prior to my removal.

Skeaping is currently the subject of a complaint of bullying by a neurodiverse queer woman and member of the local Executive, Syra Marshall. Skeaping allegedly retaliated by getting other members to make a complaint against her getting her suspended - she has had no chance to defend herself after 3 months.

Further allegations against Skeaping include deleting messages that should have been handed over following a Subject Access Request, a criminal offence under s.137 of the Data Protection Act.

I was suspended on April 16 for 11 words.

Documented history of antisemitism, including court decisions and recent terrorism charges.

Despite sending 10 emails to Rossita Priestly, the Complaints & Information Governance Officer I received no response. I therefore decided last weekend to send a letter to every member of the Green Party Council and finally received an email apologising for having sent the wrong contact details. They are clearly overworked with all the other suspensions.

In my letter I explain why I had been suspended on a lie, in fact two lies. Up till now no one has explained the various forms of suspension.  I am told though that a 4.8 suspension is a fast-track to expulsion.


So Zack the question is whether you are going to emulate Corbyn and try to expel your way out of trouble by appeasing the Zionist vultures?  People such as the rabid Jake Simons, ex-editor of the Jewish discovered publishing fictitious press releases from Netanyahu’s office by ‘journalist’ Elon Perry.

Or are you going to stand up to the GP Zionists and genocide supporters, the Elise Benjamins and Andrée Friezes who are coordinating their work in the GP with the Israeli Embassy? The JLM was working hand in hand with the Israeli Embassy during Corbyn’s leadership and so are Benjamin and Frieze.

Can Polanski Be Trusted Not To Throw Mothin Ali Under the Bus to Please the Tabloids?


I wrote in February, The Question is Whether Polanski Will Buckle Like Corbyn or Is He Made of a Different Mettle? On the present evidence it appears that you are buckling. Your Deputy Mothin Ali is under attack because there is nothing the Zionists hate more than a Muslim Deputy.

Unless you speak out against the McCarthyist Witchhunt and use your authority as leader to put an end to the practice of trawling people’s social media in the search for any hint of ‘anti-Semitism’ then you will have betrayed those who voted Green at the Gorton & Denton by-election believing that your opposition to the Genocide in Gaza was genuine.

You cannot oppose Genocide in Gaza whilst saying nothing about the Zionist ideology that motivates it. You cannot run with the Palestinian hares and hunt with the Zionist hounds.

Anti-Semitism today is a prejudice not a form of state racism. Nearly all the attacks on Jews occur because people identify them with the perpetrators of Genocide. Who gives them this idea?  The Zionists who purport to oppose anti-Semitism.

The decision is yours as to which path you take. But if the GP continues to target and suspend Muslim candidates then you can forget their votes. Racism pays few dividends.

    Polanski and Corbyn are capitalist reformists, not revolutionary socialists. They are acting in accordance with their chosen roles in the capitalist system. To demand otherwise is foolish. I suggest you return to socialism a.s.a.p. and perhaps join the Socialist Equality Party.

      Jack, unless the Greens reinstate Tony to full membership, the Greens like Corbyn would have accepted that to criticise Zionism equals anti Semitism and as you correctly state, it would destroy the Green Party.
      Better, to discipline the member/s that made the complaint against Tony in the first instance.
      I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the complainers are white Zionist.

    Hi Tony, I believe it would best to agree that: Zionism as implemented by the State of Israel is racism.
    The problem as I see it from the outside, is that they are Zionist that are appalled by the actions of the State of Israel but, still believe in Zionism and the right to a Jewish ethno State. However, this believe doesn't necessarily made them racists.
    I am not Jew, but it took me over 50 years to understand that the logical conclusion of implementing Zionism leads to fascism and therefore racism.
    Hence, I expect that it could take Jews brought up in the believe that Zionism granted them safety, to take longer to realise that Zionism is their enemy as it can be used against them.
    However, the moment you are stating that Zionism is racism they feel personally under attack and then they retaliate. I am afraid matter, that in this case language does matter.

      I understand your point of view, and those people should be offered support, counselling, training etc. However they are still responsible for their actions, and the targeted attacks against candidates mentioned above are inexcusable. I'm South African, and I'm not sure people are aware how many white South Africans did not think they were racist, or that many supported segregation but were against the inevitable inequality it creates or how it was implemented. It also made them feel under attack. Should people not have called apartheid racist, and somehow waited until White South Africans felt less defensive? I imagine it would remain an apartheid state to this day had that been the approach.

      Their is a difference between White South African from white European backgrounds and Jews. White European have never suffer the level of persecution and discrimination that European Jews have endured over centuries.
      Antisemitism is real and antisemitism kills.
      At the same time, let us not forget that many South African Jews were fighting in the vanguard against apartheid. Very much like many American Jews were fighting against segregation in America's deep South.
      Hence, I believe that rather than engage in equating Zionism with Racism, to equate Zionism as implemented by the State of Israel as racism and fascism. On this basis to call for the dismantlement of Israel as a Zionist ethno State in favour of a One Democratic State from the river to the sea in which all its citizens independent of religion and ethnicity can have equal democratic rights.

      British Jews cannot be made responsible for Israel's crimes whatever they are Zionists or no.
      Unless a British Jew has served in the IDF and directly participate in war crimes, they are not more responsible for Israel's crimes than the average British person.
      I agree that for many British Jews the dismantlement of the State of Israel would be very emotional and would be like a form of bereavement.
      Hence, the need for reassurance that Britain is their home and that the wide community will protect them.
      It is for this reason that anti Semitic attacks need to stop and by anti Semitism, I don't mean stop been critical of Israel.
      The State of Israel is a terrorist, racist and fascist state and we should called it for what it is, while at the same time protecting British Jews from anti-Semitism.

      I agree Maria, British Jews aren't responsible for what Israel does. The problem is that the Israeli state claims ownership of all Jews. it isn't a state of all its citizens it is a state of the Jewish ''Nation". In other words it commits its crimes in the name of all Jews.
      Because the Zionists captured the Board of Deputies in 1939 and then rammed through adherence to Zionist doctrines, the body that claims to represent British Jews is associating Jews here with Israel's crimes.
      That is the problem.
      Those who commit anti-Semitic attacks on Jews in Britain may be doing it out of rage at what Israel does but they should know that they are only helping the Zionists. Ziomism is strengthened not weakened by their stupidity.

This is precisely the mess that Zac Polanski has got himself into by either not understanding the true nature of Zionism or by making excuses for Zionists he's close to. Because of his position, Zac is probably the best person in Britain to be able to get the anti Zionism message across in the media, but he has to be committed, and informed enough to do it from a position of strength and conviction. In Tony Greenstein, Zac has a fantastic resource on which to draw, as long as he takes advantage of it quickly before he is overpowered by the Zionist opposition.

    All the leaderships of the parties of the capitalist state - Labour, Green, YP, SNP, etc - are Zionist. In what sense do I mean this? In that they all support the existence (and its right to exist) of the Zionist state in Palestine. The so-called two-state solution - which is bogus and unviable - is the final refuge of the Zionist scoundrel.

      The Zionist State of Israel needs to be dismantled, their engagement in war crimes and genocide means it has forfeit the right to exists.
      A new One Democratic State from the river to the sea in which all its citizens independent of religion or racial origin have equal democratic rights, I believe is the solution.
      However, I don't believe equating Zionism with racism is going to get us anywhere near.
      I believe it is better to denounce Israel implementation of Zionism that have lead to apartheid and genocide that to equate Zionism with racism.

      You're fundamentally right, British Jews aren't responsible or representative of Israel. However, this can be complicated when, following the events in Golders Green, you have every corporate media outlet trying desperately to give credence to the idea that these attacks are linked to pro Palestinian sentiment and locals draping themselves in Israeli flags, not that that justifies attacking people of course.

      The real context of the Golders Green stabbing incident is;
      1. Mental health problems of the assailant. Nothing to do with “race” or “terrorism” or “religion”.
      2. Inadequate treatment of that dangerous patient.
      3. His early release from treatment against medical advice, due to the inadequate bed space of the NHS (which is now one third of what it was 30 years ago!)
      4. Wes Streeting’s ongoing privatisation of the NHS.
      5. The fact that the police deal with the mentally ill being “cared for in the community” more than the health service.
      6. That this mentally ill man made an attempted murder on another Somalian man 2.5 hrs before the stabbings in Golders Green - and police failed to respond. If they had done, these attacks would not have happened.
      7. That all this is being spun as “antisemitism” is an outrage. It is divisive, false and part of the government propaganda war on us, the general public.
